Getting swept by the Cubs at home would be barely a blip on the radar, but would be annoying nonetheless.

The Daily News has been flashing back to the 1986 season.

Twenty years ago today, the Mets lost both ends of a doubleheader to the Braves. I'll bet some of today's fans panicked just reading that. I sure hope that that sweep doesn't place the 1986 championship in jeopardy.

This whole season is kind of like sleeping in on a Saturday morning enjoying a good dream but worried your mom is going to come in and wake you up and tell you it's 1992.

Blue caps again: Nice.

No pinstripes, though. Solid white uniforms.

Leadoff walk for Pierre, but Castro throws him out attempting to steal second.

A 2-out single.

Note to Aaron Heilman - THAT'S what you do when a ball is hit back to you! Throw it to first for the final out of the inning.

Deep cleansing breath....

Probably my favortie uni combo is the solid white with blue caps.

I've been meaning to compile a win-loss record according to the different uni combos. Not that it matters, but thought it might be interesting.

One out walk for Endy.

I don't mind the solid white uniforms, although I prefer the pinstripes.

The solid whites look pretty good with the black crown/blue brimmed caps.

Course the next season in 1993, this monstrosity was introduced.

The good news, the racing piping was replaced, the bad news was this was now our logo:

What IS that song they play when Beltran comes up to the plate?

Sounds like "Vanis takee! Vanis takee!"

Beltran pops up and Delgado strikes out.

No score after 1.

The camp kids are out in force.

I can already hear Kase railing against the counselors who are going to herd these kids out in the 7th inning.

Maine gets the first batter out in the second.

I think when I get to 11,000 posts maybe I'll be this guy:

Wright walks.

Valentin bats.

Somebody says, "EVERYBODY CLAP YO HANDS!"

On a hit-and-run, Valentin hits a deep fly to the warning track.
