Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2006 Posted July 26, 2006 ="TransMonk"]I've been meaning to compile a win-loss record according to the different uni combos. Not that it matters, but thought it might be interesting. They flash it at Shea at the start of the game (while the Mets pitcher is taking his first warmups).Seems to me with this win, the Mets are 13-15 with the White uniforms (the only uniforms in which they have a losing record.="ScarletKnight41"]The camp kids are out in force.I can already hear Kase railing against the counselors who are going to herd these kids out in the 7th inning.Indeed. Most of the groups stayed for the whole thing! I was very pleased.="Yancy Street Gang"]What IS that song they play when Beltran comes up to the plate?Sounds like "Vanis takee! Vanis takee!"It's "[something] aqui!" I think. No spanish skills here, but that's the eternal question on the "Mets Entrance Music" theme. Every at-bat for the past 2 years, it's the same song. I really want to know.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2006 Posted July 26, 2006 Fun IGT, sure, but it was fun to be there. Coupla things I didn't see in the IGT:Weather: Rick Peterson, no jacket.Willie going out to talk to Maine rather than Peterson. Don't think I've ever seen Willie go out to the mound other than to change a pitcher/injury in his 1.5 years as manager.Camp groups all over the upper deck. Some into the game, some chanting "let's go Yankees," some starting the wave.Maine is turning into a fan favorite.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2006 Posted July 26, 2006 ]Willie going out to talk to Maine rather than Peterson. Don't think I've ever seen Willie go out to the mound other than to change a pitcher/injury in his 1.5 years as manager.Willie said that he went out there to "challenge" Maine to get through whatever sticky spot he was in at the time.I forget the specific situation.
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted July 26, 2006 Posted July 26, 2006 He said, "What are you going to do, fool around? Play the game."When Peterson goes out there, he just shows that commercial on his iPod.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted July 27, 2006 Posted July 27, 2006 Funny.Dickshot came out to the mound in this IGT and challenged us to stop fooling around. Credit there.Less than almost two months since the Mets' last extra-inning shutout. Not bad.The only bad part was eating Heilman's ass. Bleh.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted July 27, 2006 Posted July 27, 2006 Let's face it. At Valentin's age, he was getting tired and wanted to go home and take a nap. So he ended the game.Later
