soupcan Old-Timey Member Posted May 9, 2006 Posted May 9, 2006 Sorry I couldn't find the original thread so I started this one.A baseball signed by several members of the '86 team. Noticeably missing are Keith Hernandez, Darryl Strawberry, Bob Ojeda, wally Backman, Davey Johnson among others.I was thinking this thing would go for $100.00 tops but its at $152.50 and rising...Granted its got Doc and Sid, Jesse and Darling etc., but minus those other names I don't think its worth even a hundo.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted May 9, 2006 Posted May 9, 2006 The 1986 team is so storied that a ball missing a few signatures would be particularly cool if there were a semi-plausible story attached to their absence. Like if it was missing Ron Darling, Tim Teufel, Bob Ojeda and Rick Aguilera because they were all detained in Houston the night the ball went around.
Guest cooby Guests Posted May 9, 2006 Posted May 9, 2006 Am I looking at that wrong or is Johnnylavel bidding against himself every few minutes?

When he placed that bid, however, it registers as only as high as needed to take over as "high bidder."Each time someone else bids, his bid increases so that he remains the high bidder. (Unless/until someone goes over his "maximum bid.")
Guest cooby Guests Posted May 10, 2006 Posted May 10, 2006 Johnnylavel lost out for 157.50. He should have stayed with it

Though that should be a McFarlane figure
Guest cooby Guests Posted June 3, 2006 Posted June 3, 2006 That's kinda nice.btw, for those of you who would know, was $55 a good price for all those yearbooks?
