The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago Just now, Centerfield said: Why is Soto out of the game? I'm guessing his ankle is swelling from the ball he fouled off it earlier in the game.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago Mets may end up calling up Morabito and going with an all-rookie outfield. MFS62 1
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago They may, this may be a lost year for several Mets. I personally believe Lindor Robert and Polanco are done for the year I wouldn't mind seeing Ryan Clifford at first at some point
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago Kenley Jansen is still playing baseball?
The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago Come on, their closer in Kenley Jansen. He is a once was with a 4.82 ERA and 1.382 WHIP this year, but the Mets anemic offense will end up making him look like Mariano Riviera in his prime.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago Well, we've got a closer with a 5.27 ERA.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago Well, look at it this way. Ewing will be our ghost runner in bottom 10 ... so as long as we're not already down by three or more runs by the time we get there it might all work out. Three walks yesterday for Ewing to three backwards Ks today.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago How pulled in will the Tigers infield be looking for Torrens to bunt with Ewing on second with the winning run?
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago Also, I don't know why it is a big deal to pitch Raley in consecutive games, but they won't pitch the two previous relievers in consecutive innings.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago Please stop calling backup catchers good bunters.
The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago Benge wins it with a solid single.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago Baby Met drives in Baby Met for the winner!!!
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago Bullpen: 5-1/3, one hit, three walks, five K Centerfield 1
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago Gelbs forgot to ask Benge how long he intends to stick with that piss-poor excuse for a mustache. Second consecutive game > 3:00 although this would have been under if finished in regulation.

I guess home plate blue was just getting started He was already kind of being a busybody before that. From that point forward though, he was sort of nutty. Overbearing to cover for himself, which only led to more behavior he had to cover for. C.B. Bucknor can be like that, but because he's such a big athletic guy, he doesn't have the insecurity that makes it snowball. Valentine just lost control of the game by trying to project to everybody how in control of it he was. Weird.

I don't think the all-rookie lineup is coming any time soon, though. They might have been able to field one if they hadn't traded off so much ripe talent at the deadline and the off-season, though. The odd thing is that while it was a rookie-driving-in-a-rookie game-winning RBI, Ewing contributed close to nothing. He struck out looking to end the ninth, was gifted second base by a stupid rule to open the tenth, and scored standing up on a play that would have scored virtually anybody.
