I would also like to decline this benefit. It just replaces one distraction with another one. It's not as annoying as the ads, but annoying nonetheless.

I've never been asked that question before. Give me some time to think about how that would be accomplished.

The easiest solution would be to turn it off for everyone, unless there are some people who actually want it. 

 

Another option would be to make it more subtle. Reduce the size of the star and get rid of the gold border. I think the border is the worst part. It makes it look like the individual post is somehow more significant than others, and it really isn't.

Yeah I plan on stomaching ads and saving $25 so I don't see the need to show which of us are "premium" users.  But that's just me.
