Nothing like a 10:15 local start on a Friday night during an ugly early season slump. Don't you just love baseball?

Have fun, this is the first game I have an active SNY account to watch so it's opening day to watch

It's weird to a site manager start an IGT, it's sacred stuff

LGM!!

Eh, maybe that's what we need to wake up the bats.

Yes. we found out last year that throwing goat entrails under a full moon doesn't always work. (and it really ticks off the goat)

Not that it's been much of a concern lately but, of course, if the Mets win, the IGT starter is bound to keep the mojo going by starting the next IGT.

Is Brendan merely here as a site manager or a community member also?

Let that be a lesson to us all.  Get a new IGT started as soon as possible after the end of a game, so site mangers have something to promote.

Alsowhich, do yourselves a favor and follow the site at Febbook and whatever social media platforms you do your thing on.

The 2025 Mets had an incredible knack for ruining vacations. We were away when the Mets were swept out of Pittsburgh. We had a great time in Seattle except the Mets were getting swept by the Brewers. The Mets didn’t get swept when we went to St Louis for my nephews birthday, but the only time they beat the Reds was after we returned to NY on Sunday. Labor Day weekend was great by comparison. The Mets beat Miami on Saturday, but lost 3 of 4 overall.

I regret to inform all of you that we are away this weekend.

I fear we are losing "our thing" sellout

San Francisco is trying to spare us the pain of watching the Mets "noffense".

It seems the more things change, the more they stay the same.

Semien finally gets a hit and is cheated out of an RBI because Robert doesn’t know how many outs there are…

Every day, the Mets demonstrate they are not ready to play.

He seemed to know what he was saying.

I mean, I don't know who puts together what these guys are saying, but he seemed more convincing than Zeile or Blevvy.

Also, Soto out of the game.

It happens once to Lindor (a guy with a generally unimpeachable work ethic/leadership) and you go “ok, we’re all human.”

Happens again, to another player, and you start wondering what’s wrong with the management of this team.  Combined with the dumb coaching decisions, suboptimal bullpen usage, and other sloppiness in the field and one wonders about who should be managing this team.

I would also question Tim Leiper in not getting down the line (are they not allowed to go down the line anymore?).  If Robert didn't have the stop sign thrown up so fast, he still quite possibly would have scored when the throw went into second, assuming he was running hard enough.

No restriction moving that way.  The restriction is standing on the outfield side of the base to prevent stealing signs/looking at the pitcher’s grip.

Mets send eight to the plate in top 1 ... and manage to score the mathematical minimum possible.

I'm not sure that Robert got the outs wrong. He appeared to duck the liner, or at least pause so as to not risk running into it. But then the coach seemed to make the premature decision to hold Robert while failing to read that the LF'er wasn't even looking to throw home.

Yeah!  Join me in taking a good look at Leiper!

Maybe they let him off the hook in the post-game this time by announcing that he was operating under a pre-established commitment to be passive.
