Edgy MD Site Manager Posted March 29 Posted March 29 The Mets attempt to run the Pirates out of town winless, as they break the seal on Nolan McLean 2026. On the assault for Pittsburgh will be Carmen Mlodzinski. Carmen has been a solid to good swingman type that the Buccos are trying to establish as a full-time starter. Looked really good down the stretch in 25. Strong guy, thick lower half. Sinker/slider. Sort of a dictionary modern righthander, but known to tinker with his arsenal. Nolan McLean looked pretty good down the stetch in 25, too.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted March 29 Posted March 29 Not knowing the Pirates well I expected to see Bubba Chandler in this series. we survived the letdown game. Let’s sweep on McLean day.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted March 29 Posted March 29 How many relievers are going to be sent down/called up prior to game time? Sorry, just a reflex post based on last year

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted March 29 Author Posted March 29 Garcia and L. Garcia are going to end up pitching a lot as long as the powers that be are convinced they are two different peoples. Brock Beauchamp and Centerfield 1 1
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted March 29 Posted March 29 Someone can fact check me. But I’m pretty sure the 2025 Mets were 0-96 on Sunday. We try to change that today.

Hahahah, someone went behind me and "edited" my bullpen charts, which royally pissed me off this morning. In my blind rage I decided Garcia should be there twice, I guess.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted March 29 Author Posted March 29 Brett Baty gets to use a glove today, swapping jobs with Jorge Polanco.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted March 29 Posted March 29 Nolan walks the first two , obviously needs to settle down
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted March 29 Author Posted March 29 The sweeper is falling consistently over the plate but below the knees. Curve is workin', though.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted March 29 Author Posted March 29 I feel like we don't need the strike zone box on the screen anymore. Before the challenge system, that box was the only sense of justice against the ump we had, but now if I don't like the ball-strike call, it's on the player to challenge it and not the ump.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted March 29 Posted March 29 McLean seems to have settled down at least....
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted March 29 Posted March 29 I'm wondering if the effects of hamate issue are slowing Lindor
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted March 29 Author Posted March 29 I'm not sure why hamate surgery would slow a player. Gary is over-proud of his objectivity, and tends to bet against the Mets when a call goes to review.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted March 29 Author Posted March 29 Great to see McLean pitch his way out of that inning, but Ramon De Jesus gave him a handful of questionable and worse calls that inning.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted March 29 Author Posted March 29 Can't really explain the mid-inning switch here, but people have their ways.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted March 29 Posted March 29 Brazoban has always scared me, but he's been money so far this year.
