I was able to watch the end of yesterday's game. A really nice win against a very good team in a season where there haven't been many of those. On the other hand, I have watched quite a bit of the Royals this season, and they're a very bad baseball team.

The good news from the last two games vs Atlanta is that the bullpen allowed nine runs after the 8th inning in the two games: six in the 9th on Monday, then two in the 9th plus one in the 10th on Tuesday ... and yet we won both games. Not that I'm recommending that as a winning formula.

Mets have a record one game better than KC and for similar reasons: Royals are 20th in RS/G (Mets = 27th) and 24th best in RA/G (Mets = 19th)

Looking at that chart tells me we might be seeing Brazoban tonight. In fact, without looking at that chart, I think we may be seeing Brazoban tonight.

Mets are slowly improving, I guess. Their team OBP is above .300 for the first time in what seems like forever and they now have multiple active guys with averages at or over .250 ... Soto, Bichette, Ewing, Benge and Alvarez.

Good call! They have DFA'd Zuniga and called up Matt Seelinger. It'll be a feel good story for Seelinger, as he is a 31-year-old rookie making his debut.
