Chad ochoseis Old-Timey Member Posted April 13, 2025 Posted April 13, 2025 Glad I checked the schedule. Was guessing that the team would get a day to fly from Sacramento to Minneapolis. 7:40 on SNY. Gametime weather forecast is 46 degrees, with not quite enough rain to postpone.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted April 14, 2025 Posted April 14, 2025 Joe Ryan on the mound for the Twins. I don't think I've ever heard of him, but his numbers suggest he's good. Career WHIP of 1.06. Seems like the guy doesn't walk anyone. Career ERA is 3.88, so maybe he gives up lots of HRs or something.Clay Holmes for us.

Chad ochoseis Old-Timey Member Posted April 14, 2025 Author Posted April 14, 2025 And Baty, coming off a good day, sits against a righty. Can't be much clearer that he's headed for Syracuse in a few days.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted April 14, 2025 Posted April 14, 2025 I believe we are going to see Acuna play everyday for a very long timeWet and cold. Rain between 9-10pm. They'll play but ouch
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted April 14, 2025 Posted April 14, 2025 Windy too, which always makes the cold and wet so much more enjoyable, with gusts up to 30 mph...
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted April 14, 2025 Posted April 14, 2025 Sparse crowd , don't blame them with that weather
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 14, 2025 Posted April 14, 2025 Let‘s see Acoonie tear up some basepaths.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 14, 2025 Posted April 14, 2025 His wheels buy the Mets a run.It is kind of amazing, however, what a high percentage of oven-mitt guys diving into second over-slide. A clever infielder might occasionally pass on trying to tag the runner before he gets to the base, and instead just let him slide in while diving in right behind him as he overslides.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted April 14, 2025 Posted April 14, 2025 I like how big the lettering is on the front of the Twins uniform.Doesn't the stadium have a roof?
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 14, 2025 Posted April 14, 2025 (edited) In 15 games this year Lindor has reached base leading off the 1st eight times (6 hits, one walk, one error). But despite being on 1st w/no outs four times, and on 2nd w/no outs three times, he's scored just two 1st inning runs. One of those runs was via his own HR. The other was on an Alonso HR.The rest of the 1st inning ABs behind him yielded a total of one single and two BBs. All the rest were outs including three GiDPsThat's a lot of wasted opportunities. Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 14, 2025 Posted April 14, 2025 The have a really massive Flo out there in the outfield promoting the company that has their division rival's stadium naming rights. I keep seeing that ad and thinking I've made a mistake and they're playing the Guardians and not the Twins. Also, Soto looks like he has joined the grounds crew.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 14, 2025 Posted April 14, 2025 Homeruns by grounds-crew members are also pretty sweet and gratifying.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted April 14, 2025 Posted April 14, 2025 I was about to reserve a room for Soto at the Syracuse Embassy Suites
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted April 14, 2025 Posted April 14, 2025 I was about to say he needs to find a new spot in the lineup beforebecause batting second isn't working and then he blasts a ding dong.Or course he did...
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 14, 2025 Posted April 14, 2025 A little late for the seventh-inning stretch, but ...
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 15, 2025 Posted April 15, 2025 Lots of good signs, Vientos driving a ball into the gap for a ribeye for the second game in a row, and an actual Juan Soto appearance, plus continued stellar bullpen work. Mets beating teams that they should be beating, thus far
