I like baseball because it's baseball. I don't need cutesy poo nicknames, scoreboard hysterics, theme nights, or any of that. And I live in Syracuse and I attend quite a bit of minor league baseball, and have my entire life having always lived away from all of the MLB cities, so I've had time to formulate my own opinions on this topic.

I was hoping that the obscure NYS law was the reason behind the temporary name change. It sounds like the team was just inspired by the NYS law.



Like it would have been cooler if the law said something like "no assemblage of more than 25 ppl except when the event honors a farm animal...bla bla blah"

When I first saw this Subject Heading I was afraid to open because I thought this would involve a minor league team name even dopier than the Rumble Ponies.

But I was even more afraid that it was going to be a story with photos of Chuck Schumer, Nancy Pelosi, and John Fetterman together in a hot tub ... so I guess I got off easy.

I'm also down with bathtub donkeys. I love whe minor league teams go quirky. I'm fucking all about the trash pandas. And when they go extra quirky on limited runs… all the better.
