Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted October 15, 2024 Posted October 15, 2024 Genie shows up and says you have to pick one. No hedging. No options. No details other than the choices given.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted October 15, 2024 Posted October 15, 2024 Easy choice. Kamala wins, Mets lose.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted October 15, 2024 Posted October 15, 2024 We could always win another World Series, but there may never be another election if he wins.KamalaLater

Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted October 15, 2024 Posted October 15, 2024 Not a close call. I can survive the Mets losing. Not so sure I can survive losing my country.
TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted October 15, 2024 Posted October 15, 2024 The 2024 Mets have already vastly exceeded my expectations. We'll come back next year and win in 2025 while K is prez.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted October 15, 2024 Author Posted October 15, 2024 I'm there too. I guess part of this is growing up. More of this is the state of the country. But I think childhood me would be very surprised I'd pick a presidential election over the Mets winning the World Series.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted October 15, 2024 Posted October 15, 2024 If Roy Cohn or some other anti-American menace was running in 1984, I might have been fool enough to put the Mets first, but I'd like to believe my Dad would be all, "Some other time, Son."
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted October 15, 2024 Posted October 15, 2024 I recall starting a similar poll four years ago* but couldn't find it.* It was obviously more than four years ago, because by October 2020 we knew the Mets weren't going to win the World Series. It was probably around spring training of 2020, or earlier.
batmagadanleadoff Old-Timey Member Posted October 15, 2024 Posted October 15, 2024 I'm certain that the motherfuckers who voted for the first option aren't choosing the Mets over Kamala. For them, the choice is even easier. They'd prefer that Hitler wins next month.
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted October 16, 2024 Posted October 16, 2024 If the Dodgers sweeping the next three games could meana Kamala landslide -- taking all fifty states and finally saying hasta la vista to the orange blowbag -- put me down in 2024.

I don't know who for sure, but that would be their story to tell.
