He is the absolute worst "good reliever" the Mets have ever had. Worse than Benitez, worse than Diaz. Awful. I hate seeing him come in to pitch, because this sort of thing always happens.

It was inevitable that this season would end with the Braves clinching against the Mets.

Pathetic effort. They fucking deserve it.

I said the Mets should have traded him before the deadline to get something while he still had value. If they had just followed my advice, this wouldn't be happening right now. And, right now, he's pretty much valueless.

Fucking hell guys. Every one of these games is a goddamned blessing.

This shit ain't over. And even if it turns out that our run is over, it's been a fucking joy. Who the fuck had tired for the wild card with the braves heading into the last games of the season on their bingo board? Especially with where this team was at the end of May.

If we get in. Great. If not. Fucking awesome ride.

Lfgm, let's go!

Yeah, you betcha.

No matter what happens tomorrow, the Mets can only pass the Braves by sweeping on Monday. So the Braves-Royals game tomorrow is meaningless from the Mets' point of view.

Mets have 3 games left, DBacks have 2 counting tonight. Mets need to win one more game than the DBacks. So if the DBacks win tonight and tomorrow, the Mets get in by sweeping in Atlanta and are SOL otherwise.

Try not to divine any deep and profound meaning from any of this. Three teams fighting for two spots with a day or two left in the season, separated by about a game in the standings and arbitrary derived tiebreakers after playing a combined almost 500 games. It's all a big nothing. The difference between these teams is nothing. Air. A stupid groundball that the batter regretted hitting the instant he made contact but that ended up in the outfield for a run scoring single. A lucky seeing-eye single that won a game. A warning track out that was blasted and crushed but didn't land 20 feet beyond the outfield wall like it should have because the wind was blowing in. Luck. Randomness. Nothing. The sixth and seventh best teams in the league battling for a playoff spot.
