Cowtipper Old-Timey Member Posted September 28, 2024 Posted September 28, 2024 Garrett with his pube-y looking beard really, really sux.
Cowtipper Old-Timey Member Posted September 28, 2024 Posted September 28, 2024 Walking a man in with a 4-0 count.What a loser.
Cowtipper Old-Timey Member Posted September 28, 2024 Posted September 28, 2024 He is the absolute worst "good reliever" the Mets have ever had. Worse than Benitez, worse than Diaz. Awful. I hate seeing him come in to pitch, because this sort of thing always happens.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted September 28, 2024 Posted September 28, 2024 It was inevitable that this season would end with the Braves clinching against the Mets. Pathetic effort. They fucking deserve it.
Cowtipper Old-Timey Member Posted September 28, 2024 Posted September 28, 2024 I said the Mets should have traded him before the deadline to get something while he still had value. If they had just followed my advice, this wouldn't be happening right now. And, right now, he's pretty much valueless.

Every one of these games is a goddamned blessing. This shit ain't over. And even if it turns out that our run is over, it's been a fucking joy. Who the fuck had tired for the wild card with the braves heading into the last games of the season on their bingo board? Especially with where this team was at the end of May. If we get in. Great. If not. Fucking awesome ride. Lfgm, let's go!Yeah, you betcha.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted September 28, 2024 Posted September 28, 2024 Losing i can accept, but we've been non-competitive and that really sucks
Cowtipper Old-Timey Member Posted September 28, 2024 Posted September 28, 2024 Game over.Whatever.Mets are perpetual disappointments. What else is new.
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted September 28, 2024 Posted September 28, 2024 I blame the cult baby, and those that worship 'it.'
Cowtipper Old-Timey Member Posted September 28, 2024 Posted September 28, 2024 Two-hit in one of the most important games of the year.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted September 28, 2024 Posted September 28, 2024 What are the scenarios now ?
Chad ochoseis Old-Timey Member Posted September 28, 2024 Posted September 28, 2024 (edited) No matter what happens tomorrow, the Mets can only pass the Braves by sweeping on Monday. So the Braves-Royals game tomorrow is meaningless from the Mets' point of view.Mets have 3 games left, DBacks have 2 counting tonight. Mets need to win one more game than the DBacks. So if the DBacks win tonight and tomorrow, the Mets get in by sweeping in Atlanta and are SOL otherwise. Edited September 28, 2024 by Guest

batmagadanleadoff Old-Timey Member Posted September 28, 2024 Posted September 28, 2024 Try not to divine any deep and profound meaning from any of this. Three teams fighting for two spots with a day or two left in the season, separated by about a game in the standings and arbitrary derived tiebreakers after playing a combined almost 500 games. It's all a big nothing. The difference between these teams is nothing. Air. A stupid groundball that the batter regretted hitting the instant he made contact but that ended up in the outfield for a run scoring single. A lucky seeing-eye single that won a game. A warning track out that was blasted and crushed but didn't land 20 feet beyond the outfield wall like it should have because the wind was blowing in. Luck. Randomness. Nothing. The sixth and seventh best teams in the league battling for a playoff spot.
