I typed "Joe Jackson" in several times as today's 200-hit White Sock, and nobody came up until I realized I had to submit him as "Shoeless Joe Jackson." Now I know I have to type "Mopey" if I ever want to submit Mike Piazza.



Also, holy crap! Ken Griffey, Jr. was a White Sock!

I only recall this because there was an episode where he was captured on camera dozing in the dugout during a late season game sometime near the very end of his tenure there.

He was on my fantasy team the year that he had something like 10 home runs and 102 RBI. Not sure he ever hit double figures in home runs again, and pretty near certain he never came close to 100 RBIs otherwise.



(after checking - 1997, 17 HR, 119RBIs, along with a .372 BA. 4 other seasons of 10+ HRs. I got a lot of grief for overpaying for Gwynn and his one dimensional fantasy contributions before the season, and it was a lot of fun watching him prove the critics at my old job wrong.)

I really like it when it the grid contains old teams so you can try to fill as many black-and-white images as you can. Carl Mays I got only because when I lived in SF there was some quiz about "FIRST Mays of the Giants" and it was Carl not Willie, Carl more known for his Boston on-the-field fight with Ty Cobb and even better known for killing Ray Chapman with a pitched ball. In any event, glad to be able to use this pointless knowledge.

I almost screwed up when I accidentally hit Orlando Cabrera when meaning to hit Orlando Cepeda for the BOS/StL square. But it turns out that both were correct so that saved me.
