The parade of LHPs continues as Tyler Anderson faces Jacob deGrom

Anderson, 32, in his 7th ML season, his 1st season as a Dodger (previously with COL, SFG, PIT, SEA)

His career ERA prior to this season was 4.62 and, aside from his rookie season, had never been under 4.35 ... so this season it's 2.69

His career WHIP was 1.32 ... and this year it's 1.02

His career record was 29-38 ... so this season he's 13-2

His H/9, HR/9, BB/9 are all at career lows and by big margins.

And did I mention he's a lefty?

Plus it's a JdG start so the Mets are contractually obligated to not hit.

Who is the LA pitching coach performing that magic?

Last time I looked, they had the best team ERA by a wide margin.

INF Brett Baty underwent an MRI earlier today that revealed a UCL tear in his right thumb. He has been placed on the 10-Day IL, retroactive to August 29. He will undergo surgery tomorrow. A typical return to play for this type of injury is five weeks. Additional updates will be provided as appropriate.

OF Terrance Gore has been selected from Triple-A Syracuse…He will wear #4.

Terence Gore?

They would have to add him to the 40 man roster.

If they wanted a speed guy, why not Lee, who is already on the 40 man?

And with Baty on the IL, it would be a perfect time to call up Vientos who plays 3B.

You got a lot of 'Splainin' to do, Lucy.

I'm not sure there's an appropriate time to get hurt.

I've never liked seeing 14 and 31 in circulation with the Dodgers. Now I'll just concentrate on 31.

Has there EVER been more power potential in the 8 & 9 slots than Gallo & Bellinger?

Both have hit 40+ in a season.

Don't know but I'd bet against it.

Piazza's not even in the Dodgers HOF. He has a very strained relationship with the team and as of very recently, he hasnt ever been back to Dodgers Stadium other than as a Dodger opponent since he was traded to the Marlins. I assume that that streak is still intact, but I'm not 100% sure.

Of course, Doc and Darryl's legacies and relationships with the Mets aren't exactly perfect either. But strictly based on their on the field accomplishments, if Keith's # deserves to be retired, theirs shoulda been retired long ago. And so long as Doc and Darryl's are still in circulation, it's batshit crazy that Carter's # hasn't been issued in more than 20 years going by on the field accomplishments. (It's batshit crazy that Carter's # is in mothballs period, no matter what other else.)

The good thing is that we have Seventh-Inning deGrom available to replace Sixth-Inning deGrom.

The bad thing is we gotta hit and hit and hit and hit and hit some more.
