I heard about it, first time actually seeing it. Thanks G-F for posting.

I tell you, if you've never had the opportunity to hang at a game (or anywhere) with DDad and MetFairy, you're missing out. They're a good time. I miss them around here.

D-dad and I were seasoned tail-gaiters at Jets games for many moons. I had

four seats, he had some and my nif had four so we'd have a dozen or so convene

at good Ol' D-13 and partay! 12:40 always rolled around too fast and we were like

shit we gotta break camp and go watch a football game.

Then Metlife happened and it's all but just a memory...

Fboy and I admired that sign live when it was aired the other day. I just let him know that that was put up there by MF/DD and he was very happy to know that. MetFairy and I met us for many years (and Diamond Dad a few times, and KC also) for enjoyable afternoons at the Citi.

Bannering is such a unique organic and distict element of the Met Fan Brand experience, a good marketer should click into that and find a way to exploit it as a differentiator

Ive only experimented with banners twice. The famous FREE TIMO PEREZ game with KC, and the other time I participated in Banner Day with a banner about bannering that I thought was so cleverly meta it should have won. I found the experience fun but also making myself an object of attention at a baseball game to be a little uncomfortable also.

I always think of Banner Day as a Mets thing, but I know that's colored by the fact that I grew up a Mets fan. Did other teams not have Banner Days? That's definitely something they need to lean into.

I vaguely remember banner holding fans being told to take down their "critical of Mets management" banners during the Madoff Mets era. If I'm remembering right, it's not surprising. The Wilpons really did suck.

The way Citi Field is designed, it's impossible for fans to walk a banner all along the fan section, starting, for example, at one outfield corner, and walking the entire seating area to end up at the other outfield corner. This was a neat feature of Shea Stadium.

Your 'Welcome A-boardick' banner made the official team highlight film

for 2000. They didn't show us, but showed the banner. I'm sure I have,

and have posted, a screenshot of it. I'll have to dig around, I never throw

anything out.

Does anyone remember a large banner in the upper deck one game (I

don't know or really think it was on banner day) that read something like:

Demons be gone! Exorcise Shea!

I'm certain it happened, just can't remember if was a thing or not a thing...

Dale's nine outings previous to the hanging of this banner were not pretty: 17.1 IP, 8.31 ERA.

Yet Montreal picked him up for the stretch drive.
