Without speculating, he missed a few chunks this year, might just be a scheduling thing. (hospitals are tight right now, apparently there's a lot of people running around exposing themselves to dangerous viruses)



Though I wonder if it was playoffs related. The team tanked and he realized he might as well just take the next slot.

Howie checked in with Wayne and Eddie prior to first pitch. Says recovery's coming more slowly than he anticipated, and he did sound a little worn, but he was also feisty regarding the Mets needing to make changes — and he's still growling about the thumbs down business. Mostly he wanted to thank everybody for the torrent of good wishes.
