Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted August 30, 2021 Posted August 30, 2021 Howie is taking the rest of the year off to deal with the ongoing health issues he's had.
batmagadanleadoff Old-Timey Member Posted August 30, 2021 Posted August 30, 2021 Get well, Howie. And do those quizzes from home. I wonder if he was holding out, hanging on, so he could host the Koosman uniform retirement ceremonies?
Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted August 30, 2021 Posted August 30, 2021 Without speculating, he missed a few chunks this year, might just be a scheduling thing. (hospitals are tight right now, apparently there's a lot of people running around exposing themselves to dangerous viruses)Though I wonder if it was playoffs related. The team tanked and he realized he might as well just take the next slot.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted August 30, 2021 Posted August 30, 2021 Get well, Howie. And get plenty of rest. We'll need you all next year in the World Series Championship run.Later

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 30, 2021 Posted August 30, 2021 He hasn't been as sharp this year, though much of that be the challenge of calling games remotely.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 10, 2021 Posted September 10, 2021 Howie had a successful procedure today as per the radio broadcast team. Not sure still what it was. I am assuming that he had his anus expanded surgically.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted September 10, 2021 Posted September 10, 2021 What else could it be?
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2021 Posted October 3, 2021 Howie checked in with Wayne and Eddie prior to first pitch. Says recovery's coming more slowly than he anticipated, and he did sound a little worn, but he was also feisty regarding the Mets needing to make changes — and he's still growling about the thumbs down business. Mostly he wanted to thank everybody for the torrent of good wishes.
whippoorwill Old-Timey Member Posted March 15, 2022 Posted March 15, 2022 Geez I'm glad I reread this....I thought it was this year
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted March 15, 2022 Posted March 15, 2022 The wall of the ballpark with the ticket booth behind them has a very suburban Abraham & Strauss look.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted March 15, 2022 Posted March 15, 2022 He's enjoying that giant new anus of his I bet
