Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 17, 2021 Posted July 17, 2021 These Pirate broadcasters are epically bad. Holy schmoly.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 17, 2021 Posted July 17, 2021 =bmfc1 post_id=71676 time=1626575947 user_id=73]Another lousy call by Marvin Hudson but at least Gary C. and Keith are amused.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 17, 2021 Posted July 17, 2021 We've got to put more money in the Throw-a-Strike Fund.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 17, 2021 Posted July 17, 2021 Can they hit into GiDPs too?... missing turning that GiDP in the 8th led to the 3R HR
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 17, 2021 Posted July 17, 2021 So the two best relievers we have have retired three of the 11 hitters they've faced.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 17, 2021 Posted July 17, 2021 That was a strike Polanco and so was the previous one.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted July 17, 2021 Posted July 17, 2021 I don't think that I ever want to watch another baseball game.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted July 17, 2021 Posted July 17, 2021 It's the Kurt Suzuki game all over game.Sell everyone. Play for next year. Trade Diaz. Fuck this team.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 17, 2021 Posted July 17, 2021 This is like the three worst losses of the year ... IN A ROW!!
batmagadanleadoff Old-Timey Member Posted July 17, 2021 Posted July 17, 2021 I'll betchyouse the Mets ain't puttin' on no blarin' loud music in the locker room tonight.

It shows you that the Mets aren't good. They've just been not as bad as WSH, PHI, ATL and MIA so far. Emphasis on "so far".
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 17, 2021 Posted July 17, 2021 Today would have been a really nice time for one of those old seven-inning games they used to have.
batmagadanleadoff Old-Timey Member Posted July 17, 2021 Posted July 17, 2021 And bad luck. If not for rain and injury, deGrom would've faced the Pirates twice.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted July 17, 2021 Posted July 17, 2021 Brutal. So first of all, you can't leave a guy in to give up five runs. And if course Diaz and Lugo can't do that. Ever. No words.

Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2021 Posted July 18, 2021 That was brutal. My son and I both went to bed feeling like we had been kicked in the stomach.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2021 Posted July 18, 2021 Did anyone interview Tylor Megill after the game?He must be pissed.Later
Methead Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2021 Posted July 18, 2021 Yikes. I went to bed as soon as Lugo came in... figured it was pretty much a done deal at that point.
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2021 Posted July 18, 2021 I went to sleep at 6-sniffle. I checked my DVR this morning to pick up where I left offand recording ended with that score. (note to self, add another 90 minutes to this re-curring recording). When I saw they lost my jaw dropped. I guess I've been spared having not witnessed the meltdown live or on tape so there's that for me.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2021 Posted July 18, 2021 Reader's Digest version: Lugo & Diaz faced 13 hitters between them and wound up retiring four while leaving none on base because the last pitch each threw wound up on the wrong side of the OF wall for a combined 7 RBIs
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2021 Posted July 18, 2021 It wasn't Marvin Hudson's fault that the Mets lost but his call on Polanco didn't help.
