Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 5, 2021 Posted June 5, 2021 MLBN is picking up this game for those of you who might be otherwise shut out of TV coverage. This is not a game where MLBN uses their own guys to do a separate telecast, they'll just pick up one of the home or road feeds and broadcast it (mostly) nationally.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted June 5, 2021 Posted June 5, 2021 McKinney RFLindor SSAlonso 1BD. Smith LFPillar CFNido CBlankenhorn 2BdeGrom RHPPeraza 3BJake batting not high enough.
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted June 5, 2021 Posted June 5, 2021 Jake could be batting as high as fifth in this lineup and it would make sense.
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted June 5, 2021 Posted June 5, 2021 We didn't have to wait to long for the first hit tonight. Lead off double by McKinney.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 5, 2021 Posted June 5, 2021 Because of the shift the Pads are using, BB-Ref described McKinney triple in Game 1 as resulting from 'a pop-up to 3B-man Machado'.This one was more of a liner but Machado was out there to fetch the double tonight too.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted June 5, 2021 Posted June 5, 2021 (edited) Geez, Pete what happened to your batting eye? Stop trying to be a hero every at bat. Take a damn walk.Smart strategy by SD conceding a leadoff double knowing that the Mets would strand him. Edited June 5, 2021 by Guest
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 5, 2021 Posted June 5, 2021 Well, shit. A wasted leadoff double. That won't haunt us I bet.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 5, 2021 Posted June 5, 2021 Man he just toys with these batters. It's great.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted June 5, 2021 Posted June 5, 2021 USA Baseball wins at Clover Park in Port St. Lucie to advance to the Tokyo Olympics. Todd Frazier took his first step toward rejoining the Mets with a big night, including a HR.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 5, 2021 Posted June 5, 2021 I like Michelle better than Steve Gelbs.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 5, 2021 Posted June 5, 2021 How did I never know Glenn Hoffman was Trevor Hoffman's brother?
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted June 5, 2021 Posted June 5, 2021 The Mets cannot afford to field like this.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 5, 2021 Posted June 5, 2021 I want to protect deGrom's perfection as much as anybody, but the Mets oughta be playing back with the bags juiced.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 5, 2021 Posted June 5, 2021 And now, with the strikeout, that point is moot.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted June 5, 2021 Posted June 5, 2021 Jake overcomes the SS's error and the misplay by the 1B in LF. I hate that he wasted all of those pitches and had to pitch "under stress" b/c it will give Luis an excuse to take him out too soon.
dinosaur jesus Old-Timey Member Posted June 5, 2021 Posted June 5, 2021 DeGrom's heartrate is lower than mine, I know that. At 3-2 with the bases loaded, having trouble spotting his breaking pitches, he goes with the same slider the batter has already passed on twice.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 5, 2021 Posted June 5, 2021 Checked swings called for strikes is ruling the day.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 5, 2021 Posted June 5, 2021 Impressive that he was able to get the rookie to (half) swing on that last 3-2 slider. Seemed like he was going to be able to hold off after those previous ones.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 5, 2021 Posted June 5, 2021 Man, Peraza got himself a hanging hanger that hung. You can't afford to miss that one tonight.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 5, 2021 Posted June 5, 2021 Peraza hit that one so hard it turned his back pockets inside-out
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted June 5, 2021 Posted June 5, 2021 Did you see the sign that said that the Maximum Capacity of the dugout is 13?
