Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 3, 2021 Posted June 3, 2021 New rule: If a game starts at 10:30 EST, Yu Darvish can't be allowed to start.
LWFS Old-Timey Member Posted June 3, 2021 Posted June 3, 2021 Well, good thing that wasn't Barnes making that weak foul pop-up. Now let's hope Blankenhorn can fake the OF for another three innings AND that we can make offense with one hand tied behind our back.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 3, 2021 Posted June 3, 2021 Not sure what is more surprising: that Craig Stammen is still in the league or that the Mets couldn't get to him.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 3, 2021 Posted June 3, 2021 As hot as he is, McCann still seems staggered by the slider away.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 3, 2021 Posted June 3, 2021 McKinney has the third base line wide open.
LWFS Old-Timey Member Posted June 3, 2021 Posted June 3, 2021 Situational bunting is for teams that want to extend the inning?
LWFS Old-Timey Member Posted June 3, 2021 Posted June 3, 2021 In a way, the shift DID save them there, right?
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 3, 2021 Posted June 3, 2021 Wow, McKinney just misses a homer, and just misses turning it into an inside-the-parker.All credit to him for tearing ass.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 3, 2021 Posted June 3, 2021 Williams, Peraza, and Blankenhorn in the ninth.
LWFS Old-Timey Member Posted June 3, 2021 Posted June 3, 2021 Think Billy could have made it? I have a sinking feeling that-- with Nido-not-Alonso likely leading off the ninth-- we'll be discussing it in the postgame quite a bit.Speaking of speed... Christ, Mateo is fast. Almost beat out a routine grounder to 2B.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 3, 2021 Posted June 3, 2021 I'm guessing nobody likes Mark Menancon. Everybody wants to trade for him but lets him walk after the season.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 3, 2021 Posted June 3, 2021 Is it not a good play to pinch-run Stroman for Neato?
LWFS Old-Timey Member Posted June 3, 2021 Posted June 3, 2021 Lost a LOT of velocity following those arm surgeries. He's ALL curve now.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 3, 2021 Posted June 3, 2021 Well, Alou keeping his powder dry instead of pinch-hitting for Walker early may have been the right call after all, even though he only had one more inning to get out of Walker. And credit to Taijuan for hanging in there as long as he did when his location was all over the place. The potg was Alonso's pinch-hit GiDP.

Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted June 4, 2021 Posted June 4, 2021 😴 right thru that one. Too busy of a day, had a rain shortened Cheetos evening game then wasted my remaining energy watching the Islanders lose an ot heartbreaker

Good call.it may be the right baseball move in the moment, but NOT doing so carries no risk while using Jake as pinch-runner may carry the risk of your job if he suffers a long-term injury on the basepaths.
Marshmallowmilkshake Old-Timey Member Posted June 4, 2021 Posted June 4, 2021 If only Williams had been able to hang on to that ball... so close.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 4, 2021 Posted June 4, 2021 A nine inning game that went 3:35 and started at 10:10 PM EDT. That's hella stupid there. Probably two more of the same the next two nights.
