ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted April 23, 2021 Posted April 23, 2021 Mets on a turnaround from Chicago.I'm sure Jake will be lights out. Can Lindor wake the eff up?
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 23, 2021 Posted April 23, 2021 No Scherzer in this series, also no Strasburg and no Soto. This would be a very nice weekend to wake up and start hitting.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted April 23, 2021 Posted April 23, 2021 What happened to Soto? Out for 3-4 years I'm hoping?
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted April 23, 2021 Posted April 23, 2021 MAJOR LEAGUE LEADERS, RUNS29. Nationals 5530. Mets 45This should be interesting.

Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted April 23, 2021 Posted April 23, 2021 Yeah this depressing start the Mets have had is really all Washington's fault for touching their faces and going mask-less into supermarkets and making out in the shower. It was like the Mets walked into a movie and missed the first 10 minutes and will pay for it the rest of the year, very little time to establish a rhythm before a dumb-ass road trip to Denver and Chicago in mid-april. The commissioner and Fred Wilpon probably getting a laugh out of that.Anyway for these reasons I've put off firing Rojas immediately but the time has come to start making people pay and Washington deserves a heavy beating.
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted April 23, 2021 Posted April 23, 2021 I'll buy the narrative that the Mets got off to a slow start thanks to Washington's Covid issues and also the rainouts and snowouts. But we should be past that now.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted April 23, 2021 Posted April 23, 2021 Let's [CROSSOUT]kick some ass[/CROSSOUT] go Mets!Later
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 23, 2021 Posted April 23, 2021 I'd like to say that this is Unfuckinbelievable but, at this point, getting a timely hit would be the more Unfuckinbelievable outcome.
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted April 23, 2021 Posted April 23, 2021 I think Lindor is going to have to lose the Vicki Lawrence Mama's Family hairdoo to save the season.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted April 23, 2021 Posted April 23, 2021 Mcneil even looks lost taking a pitch. Lindor, I mean, I've never seen him going good I don't think.

kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted April 23, 2021 Posted April 23, 2021 Jacob's like, I got this with my bat fellas...
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 23, 2021 Posted April 23, 2021 deGrom is the change that deGrom has been waiting for.
Methead Old-Timey Member Posted April 23, 2021 Posted April 23, 2021 Of course Jake has to do it himself.Open the floodgates, let's go
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 23, 2021 Posted April 23, 2021 And the song remains the same.Nice AB by JMcN to set it up.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted April 23, 2021 Posted April 23, 2021 I'm guessing that there are catchers in AA that can hit "as well" as Nido.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 23, 2021 Posted April 23, 2021 And Nimmo is the change I've been looking for.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 23, 2021 Posted April 23, 2021 The Nimmonator just doesn't have the same ring to it.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted April 23, 2021 Posted April 23, 2021 Chants of M-V-P when deGrom bats in April don't seem sufficient as homage.
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted April 23, 2021 Posted April 23, 2021 We are watching something really, really special.

Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted April 23, 2021 Posted April 23, 2021 Watching this in DC, and the Nats announcers are marveling at deGrom. But they keep saying how great Max Scherzer was when he threw his no-hitter a few years ago. Which is, you know, kind of irrelevant.
Methead Old-Timey Member Posted April 23, 2021 Posted April 23, 2021 Might as well give him the gold glove too
