We'll probably face starters Matt Moore and Chase Anderson in some order or another before seeing Aaron Nola in the series finale.

Both Moore and Anderson are new to the Phils. The lefty Moore, 31, has been with TB, SF, TEX, DET since his 2011 debut.

Anderson, ® 33, has toiled for ARZ, MIL, TOR since 2014.

We'll miss (but not really) both Wheeler and Zack Eflin who goes for the sweep of Atlanta today.

The Phils bullpen is totally revamped with only 'DC' (designated closer) Hector Neris returning from last year's historically (and hysterically) inept crew.

My objection to Pillar is less about competition and more about categorization or epistemology. I generally object to a new player leading off the season or a new Mets pitcher getting the start on opening day. I had nothing personal against Mike Hampton and Pedro Martinez and Johan Santana, and I was glad they were acquired by my team over the winter, but who the hell were they to start the season off as representatives of my team? I DON'T KNOW YOU! I don't know if I can TRUST you!



Yes, I realize there is probably some universal law that dictates that if you have Rickey Henderson in your lineup, he's your leadoff hitter, but there's still something more aesthetically representative of the organizational continuity to me if you let a veteran of prior years answer the gun, before handing the baton off to his new buddy that may or may not soon be your buddy.
