Intense is the perfect word. I think Marcus is a gun guy, btw. I've seen a couple shots of him on IG at shooting ranges.

Was a little relieved to hear he doesn't hate Pillar.

"High-strung" is another good word.

Sometimes, the intensity is put to good purpose-- standing up to bullies, getting righteously righteous-- and sometimes, it's silly shit. But he does keep it interesting.

Give him a league-average infield this season, and I think dude can surprise.

Hard to tell if he is is intense, angry, or both.

I do think it's hard to express how discombobulating the whole "on the line" thing is if you're not used to it. Not sure if he's able to see them or not.

I don't like the guns but I'm ok with the BLM.

I definitely think there's a bit of a 'people don't give me respect' in his head - in fairness if you're a short pitcher you've been told you can't succeed since day 1 so it takes a lot to have got there.

It's interesting to talk about his intense delivery, because beneath that, it's hard to plug more cliches-per-sentence into one's answers than he did.

I think he is a bright guy who understands at some level that he's possessed of ridiculous self-delusion and persecution that he needs as fuel to succeed. That said exhibiting it the way he does strikes me as a questionable mindset. Baseball has a way of devouring over-the-top bravado

Exactly it. Don't cry "ME ME ME" out loud. Y'know, unless you're taking fun vacation or food 'Gram photos or whatnot.

This is kinda backing what Duan said, but I bet a large chunk of his bravado is a life's worth of being told you're too short, you don't throw hard enough, and I would bet at some point or points, he's been treated differently than some of his white counterparts along the way. He may have a lot of valid reasons for chips on his shoulder.
