Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 27, 2021 Posted June 27, 2021 WFUV's Don McGee, disc jockey and noted NYM fan, noted the Jethro Tull references/jokes Gary Cohen got out of Ian Anderson's start for the Braves last week. And so in tribute to that and to Keith following up by offering that BENEFIT was his favorite JT album, McGee played WITH YOU THERE TO HELP ME and TO CRY YOU A SONG off that album on his Saturday 'Mixed Bag' show.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 27, 2021 Posted June 27, 2021 Just found out today that Tony Iommi did a brief stint in Tull in late 1968.

bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted November 15, 2021 Posted November 15, 2021 Between Curb and this video it's been a big month for Dylan O'Brien. However, I'm glad that the picture is a joke as I don't need the Mets connected to "Him" and "Jake Lyon" in anyone's mind.
86dreamer Old-Timey Member Posted December 7, 2021 Posted December 7, 2021 Mackie Shilstone's journey into the popular culture took him through Jose Reyes' hamstrings and into John Goodman's belly. https://pagesix.com/2021/12/07/john-goodman-continues-to-show-off-200-pound-weight-loss/amp/https://pagesix.com/2021/12/07/john-goodman-continues-to-show-off-200-pound-weight-loss/amp/
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted December 7, 2021 Posted December 7, 2021 It pretty much brings everything full circle when Mackie Shilstone counts Fred Flintstone among his client list.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted December 10, 2021 Posted December 10, 2021 Bizarre first episode of The Jerry Lewis Show from 1963.It sort of predicts Letterman in that the show itself subverts the whole form, but nothing's really going right, or the audience isn't getting the idea that the sloppiness is part of the gimmick.Beyond that, it's like 88% padding. It's like the Letterman show was hosted by Andy Kaufman, and he didn't hire any writers, and made the whole premise of the show to see how long he can bullshit his way around not doing his homework before he gets wrestled off the stage.Around 10:50 in, Jerry calls for the sponsor's product (L&M cigarettes) to be tossed to him, and he misses the catch badly. He bends over to pick them up and says, "I should play with the Mets."
