It seems that, whether a fragment of this season happens or whether the season is missed entirely, an outside arbitrator is going to have to be brought in.

I think we nailed the problem? Who lets their kids become Yankees fans? Of course they are "making trouble"! Raise your kids to be Mets fans and they'll lose that sense of entitlement.

Poor Masahiro Tanaka has taken a liner off the coconut from the bat of Giancarlo Stanton.

Stanton is probably at the top of the list of guys you don't want hitting a liner up the middle against you.

Some of you will disagree but if I needed another reason to hate the MFYs, here's another:

Trump has announced that he will delay throwing out the first pitch at an MFY game because he's "too busy".

An earlier story had Trump backing out because players kneeling apparently offends him so. Him and Mike Ditka.

And, btw, if Captain von Steingrabber were still alive he wouldn't allow kneeling either.

In fact I was thinking earlier today about how George would have reacted to today's MFY/PHI postponement:

a) ranted about how this never would have happened if it weren't for anti-Yanqui bias in the MLB office which forced his team into the indignity of starting the season on the road.

B) blamed the inferiority of the other clubs (Yanx would have the BEST cleaning services) and especially those NL clubs which his pinstripers shouldn't be lowering themselves to play against anyway

c) All of the above

George, that great American, would have been angry that the MLB season didn't start on his birthday, the 4th of July.

My son mentioned to me that while he and his wife were house hunting, one of the places they looked at was next door to Mike Mussina.

I had a giggle imagining Tony, a lifelong Indians fan, walking next door and teasing him about the Indians beating theYankees in so many games we watched together

The MFYs are about to beat the Orioles in the second game of their double header. If they do, I think that will be the 967th consecutive game they have beaten them.

maybe more

They stopped the skid at 19!

They stopped the skid at 19!

Led by Ryan Mountcastle's 3 hits and 3 RBI, the Orioles won the nightcap 6-3.

So not only did the Orioles come back in that second game of the DH on Friday, but they took the next two games as well making it three of four in the series to even the season series at 3-3

Of course when combined with last year that still leaves the Yanx 20-5 over the O's since the beginning of '19 but things are turning in the right direction.

And now tonight in Buffalo (still seems weird to type that) the Blue Jays were down 6-2 to the Yanx in the 6th until they put up a 10-spot (and still batting) in bottom 6th to take a 12-2 lead.

The Jays already passed the Yanx for second place in the AL East over the weekend so are now looking to put some turf between them and the Bronx whatevers.

Yanx currently have a tenuous hold on WC slot #2 but aren't headed in the right direction at the moment and are all of two games ahead of those pesky Orioles.
