Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted June 5, 2020 Posted June 5, 2020 deleted, but I think 'Bob Klapisch' was probably a good wood for it
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 5, 2020 Posted June 5, 2020 It seems that, whether a fragment of this season happens or whether the season is missed entirely, an outside arbitrator is going to have to be brought in.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2020 Posted June 6, 2020 Klap trap. (an old fashioned way of saying bulls**t.)Later
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted June 7, 2020 Posted June 7, 2020 I think we nailed the problem? Who lets their kids become Yankees fans? Of course they are "making trouble"! Raise your kids to be Mets fans and they'll lose that sense of entitlement.

Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted July 2, 2020 Posted July 2, 2020 oops, silly google.it's called "Spanking the Yankees: 366 days of Bronx Bummers by Gabriel Schechter"
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 4, 2020 Posted July 4, 2020 Poor Masahiro Tanaka has taken a liner off the coconut from the bat of Giancarlo Stanton.Stanton is probably at the top of the list of guys you don't want hitting a liner up the middle against you.

Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted July 23, 2020 Posted July 23, 2020 I'm confused.'Game over for me': Trump signals he won't watch Major League Baseball if players kneel during anthem
Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted July 23, 2020 Posted July 23, 2020 no players have kneeled yet, the Yankees and Nats were too pathetic.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted July 27, 2020 Posted July 27, 2020 Trump has announced that he will delay throwing out the first pitch at an MFY game because he's "too busy".Insert your own punch line here ________________________________ .(duplicate prizes will be awarded)Later
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 27, 2020 Posted July 27, 2020 An earlier story had Trump backing out because players kneeling apparently offends him so. Him and Mike Ditka. And, btw, if Captain von Steingrabber were still alive he wouldn't allow kneeling either. In fact I was thinking earlier today about how George would have reacted to today's MFY/PHI postponement: a) ranted about how this never would have happened if it weren't for anti-Yanqui bias in the MLB office which forced his team into the indignity of starting the season on the road. blamed the inferiority of the other clubs (Yanx would have the BEST cleaning services) and especially those NL clubs which his pinstripers shouldn't be lowering themselves to play against anywayc) All of the above
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted July 27, 2020 Posted July 27, 2020 George, that great American, would have been angry that the MLB season didn't start on his birthday, the 4th of July.Later
whippoorwill Old-Timey Member Posted September 4, 2020 Posted September 4, 2020 My son mentioned to me that while he and his wife were house hunting, one of the places they looked at was next door to Mike Mussina.I had a giggle imagining Tony, a lifelong Indians fan, walking next door and teasing him about the Indians beating theYankees in so many games we watched together
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 4, 2020 Posted September 4, 2020 So, do we have a date for that big presidential first pitch?
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted September 4, 2020 Posted September 4, 2020 The MFYs are about to beat the Orioles in the second game of their double header. If they do, I think that will be the 967th consecutive game they have beaten them.maybe moreLater
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted September 5, 2020 Posted September 5, 2020 They stopped the skid at 19!They stopped the skid at 19!Led by Ryan Mountcastle's 3 hits and 3 RBI, the Orioles won the nightcap 6-3.Later
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted September 5, 2020 Posted September 5, 2020 A certain team name is missing from the MFYs tweet on Tom. Another reason for the F in MFY. https://twitter.com/Yankees/status/1301611494807748608https://twitter.com/Yankees/status/1301611494807748608
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 7, 2020 Posted September 7, 2020 So not only did the Orioles come back in that second game of the DH on Friday, but they took the next two games as well making it three of four in the series to even the season series at 3-3Of course when combined with last year that still leaves the Yanx 20-5 over the O's since the beginning of '19 but things are turning in the right direction. And now tonight in Buffalo (still seems weird to type that) the Blue Jays were down 6-2 to the Yanx in the 6th until they put up a 10-spot (and still batting) in bottom 6th to take a 12-2 lead. The Jays already passed the Yanx for second place in the AL East over the weekend so are now looking to put some turf between them and the Bronx whatevers.Yanx currently have a tenuous hold on WC slot #2 but aren't headed in the right direction at the moment and are all of two games ahead of those pesky Orioles.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2020 Posted September 8, 2020 The players are as arrogant as their fans:https://twitter.com/BrendanKutyNJ/status/1303519087818137600https://twitter.com/BrendanKutyNJ/status/1303519087818137600

Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted October 2, 2020 Posted October 2, 2020 I would have had all of the answers, but for one I would have had to say "Who is Judge?" because I wasn't sure if his first name was Aaron or Adam.
