Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2019 Posted September 24, 2019 All I wanted was to get through 1 season of Tuesdays where every Tuesday mattered. This technically matters still but, well, it could all end here.Syndergaard (10-8; 1-0, w/ 3 NDs on Tuesdays) opposes Alcantra.Tuesday Night Mets Club in 420 tonight
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2019 Posted September 24, 2019 You know they're going to win the next six and miss the playoffs by like two games, because they hate us.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2019 Posted September 24, 2019 I don't see Milwaukee slowing down, but it would be cool to win the last 6.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2019 Posted September 24, 2019 Just need one more to finish over .500 (for only the 3rd time in the last 11 years).
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2019 Posted September 24, 2019 Bring home the bacon TNMC420, a win is a win!

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2019 Posted September 24, 2019 Not to belabor the Koosman story (it just happened to be on my mind) but how many times do you think Kooz got taken out of the park to the opposite side by a middle infielder? (as Syndergaard just was)My guess is that he didn't have to take off his mitt to count them.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 24, 2019 Posted September 24, 2019 It's probably not that hard to figure out.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2019 Posted September 24, 2019 So as per the guys' discussion: Would your balance suffer more if you had only your big toe removed, or if you kept the big one only while the other four were removed?I think this merits further investigation before we decide whether the adjective 'Great' belongs in place of 'Big' when discussing said toe.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2019 Posted September 24, 2019 So apparently the strategy is to put the leadoff guy on 2nd base (one way or the other) in each inning. Not sure that's the best winning formula.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2019 Posted September 24, 2019 And apparently the Marlins' strategy is to never actually hit a ball to a fielder. That one seems to be working a bit better.
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2019 Posted September 24, 2019 I can't believe we're on the hook with Lowrie for another year at $10 mil.

kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2019 Posted September 24, 2019 I hope he enjoys his pay on past performance.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 24, 2019 Posted September 24, 2019 J.D. Davis just did an emergency wrists-only swing and still drove it over the rightfielder's head.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 24, 2019 Posted September 24, 2019 And Conforto returns them to the game.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 24, 2019 Posted September 24, 2019 Neil Walker, still a key part of the Mets' offense.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2019 Posted September 24, 2019 Reds, down 4-2 to Brewers, have runners on 2nd & 3rd w/2 outs in bottom 9. ... and Kyle Farmer K's to end the game.Gotta win tonight ... and every night.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 24, 2019 Posted September 24, 2019 I'm feeling like it's been a week since Alonso put the ball in play.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2019 Posted September 24, 2019 Until the Conforto smash, I had the feeling that it had been a week since a Met put the ball in play.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2019 Posted September 24, 2019 We get it, Gary, he's got good hitting numbers against the Mets. Let's move on. Don't beat it to death like an ESPN hack.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2019 Posted September 24, 2019 Cue the guy from the 'Holy Grail': I'm not dead yet

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 24, 2019 Posted September 24, 2019 Hey, our team can get uncontested stolen bases too!
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2019 Posted September 24, 2019 After becoming much LESS of a HR-dependent team this season, since Sunday, 13 straight runs (and 13 of 14 overall) have scored via HRs[sunday] - Cano 1-RBI 2B; Conforto 3R-HR; JD Davis solo-HR; Nimmo solo-HR[Monday] - Rosario Grand Slam[Tuesday] - Conforto 2R-HR; Conforto 2R-HRThe bad news about that is that they only have seven ABs in the last 27 innings that have produced runs.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 24, 2019 Posted September 24, 2019 Anybubby want to hazard a guess as to the benefits of pinch-running Rajai Davis for J.D. Davis before the Confortoboom?
