Set the team record — and it's not even September yet!

I like this 42 much better than the giant blue one in the Rotunda.

The preeminent 42 in Mets history needs to clout 11 more homers in the Mets remaining 34 games to break the MLB all time single season rookie HR record. It's a heady pace - about a homer every three games, but that's what Alonso's been doing all season long. And the Mets remaining road schedule is favorable to the task at hand with away games in the bandboxes at Philly (as we speak) and Cincy, a series at HR haven mile high Coors Field and a series at DC, where the Nats home stadium is the second best HR park this season. Go-Go Alonso!

Wait, am I reading that right? Did we have the lowest team record for HR's among all major league teams? Never realized we were that bad.

Moustakas held the Royals record before this season with 38, so we had Kansas City beat (ironically).

Strangely, the first 49 in my head isn't Armando, but Kevin Kobel.

If compensation was based on what you remember from when you were 12 or 13, I'd have an awful lot of money.
