Speaking of imaginary baseball teams, I have a friend who would join the Ottoneu league for 2k19, if additional peeps are still needed. He's a very smart dude, good sense of humor, and likes the right baseball team in real life.

Ceets seems to have taken a long break from here, but my homie does wanna join the ottoneu league. I'll get his fangraphs account info and message Ceetar.

If any of you rebuilding squads would like a centerpiece, I have one housebroken Bryce Harper who is looking for a new home. He is priced modestly (cough cough) at $63 dollars. Make an offer!

Ah. "Extend Your Dynasty" on the dashboard page. Looks like it's $20 this year. I think we agreed to pump it up? Ghost of Ceetar, what say you?

Edit: Thx, Wolfie.

I'm finding no-one, even with the team sitting out for anyone to claim.

I think, if no one does claim it before the draft, that I'll just release all his players and we'll roll with 11.

one of these years (it probably should have been this past year), i'm just going to gut my roster and stick around through the end of the draft to snag all the $1 bargains that are likely to outperform my bevy of $4-$10 players.

All the pundits picked them for last place but Lunchladies +18.5 pts in last 30 days and riding in 2nd.

Looks like at least part of my advantage is that I'm getting more games in than anyone else, I have 5 OFs going every night and often have an outfielder as a utility man going.

Are the other clubs purposefully trying to pace themselves so as not to blow past maxes? Or do they not have my awesome depth? I have no idea how to handle success

well, i'm struggling to find people healthy and/or good enough that i want them anywhere near my starting lineup.

ideally i pace myself. particularly with catchers. if a guy is slumping, i don't want to give him games when i might want to have those games in my pocket later in the season. at risk, of course, of a few counting stats.

What a zany year. It was pretty much smg and marathon all the way, and there was this weird group of like six of us who kept bouncing around from third to ninth all season.

good season everyone!

I lost steam around August myself, not specifically to Fantasy but certainly inclusive of it.

Expect the draft to be 3/18 at 9pm. Let me know if you're leaving or want to join, etc.

Congrats, Smiggy. Pretty much a boat race and no one really came too close. I look forward to inflating your player salaries in the offseason!

Thank you. I look forward to being so inflated. (I'm glad I enjoyed having Jeff McNeil on the cheap while it lasted.)

i'm kindof amazed i got up to second. my pitching was in a shambles at the start of the season, and my offense was terrible, too.

we definitely need more players, because i think muddy chickens is going to drop out as well.

Arbitration ends in a week, so don't forget to bloat your opponents' payrolls!

OK my ESPN league didn't take, so I think I'm ready to give this Ottoneu thing another look. Someone give me the quick lowdown please.

It's a 12-team league. You will inherit a team -- I think there are openings still for this season, but I'm not the commissioner -- with a maximum total value of $400. Your first task will be to decide which of your players are worth their current salary, and which you'd be better off cutting to the free agent pool. There will be an auction draft of players in the free agent pool in March. (Major-league player salaries all go up $2 at the end of the season, plus individual salaries can be further jacked up by the "arbitration" process, in which your rivals decide which of your players deserve more money. So don't assume only bad players wind up in the free agent pool. Bryan Harper is a current free agent, for example.) You can only spend up to $400, and you can only fill 40 roster slots. Minor leaguers are eligible to be drafted as well. During the season, an owner nominates a player to be added from the free agent pool, and all owners will have two days (I think) to bid on that player. The highest bidder gets the player and pays the cost. Cutting a player during the season gets you half their salary back. Trades are allowed, and can include money as well as players, but to this point they've really been rare in our league.

Oh and the 8 scoring categories are R, HR, OBP, SLG, K, HR/9, ERA, and WHIP.
