Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted October 9, 2018 Posted October 9, 2018 I love how jazzed Pedro still gets over the Red Sox beating the Yankees.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted October 10, 2018 Posted October 10, 2018 I turned it off and went to bed when the HBP made it 4-2. I couldn't watch any more. Was glad when I checked the score from bed to see the final result.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted October 10, 2018 Posted October 10, 2018 Good. Now I can enjoy the rest of the post-season without anxiety.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 10, 2018 Author Posted October 10, 2018 They fucked all their starters.Yanqui starters for the series: 4 starts, 13 innings, 15 ER, 19 H, 6 BB, 9 Kand if you take Tanaka's 5 IP / 1 R / 3 H out of that mix it becomes 14 earned on 16 Hits in 10 innings

Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted October 10, 2018 Posted October 10, 2018 I'm glad there will be some stupid stuff to write about Stanton, umpiring, and the Yankees all offseason to distract from all the stupid stuff written about the Mets GM search.I'm not looking forward to the "BRIAN CASHMAN NEEDS TO GO TO FLUSHING AND JUST TAKE DEGROM NOW RIGHT NOW DO IT OR GET OUT" stuff though.

I bought some Fenway Franks. They seem to have taken the Yankee Franks off the shelves."BTW- Yesterday morning, one of my co-workers saw Paul O'Neill in front of his local Starbucks. I said he should have asked him if he was getting coffee or juiced.Later

He meant 25 right? Also 100-77 is 23, so if that was his angle, he is still laughably off on the math!

Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted October 10, 2018 Posted October 10, 2018 Michael Kay was on the radio today talking about how analytics cost the Yankees that game. Numbers tell you a lot, but they don’t tell you everything. And I swear these next ideas were said (paraphrasing):*Each game has a heartbeat. *you can’t put a number on heartbeat. *well you can, like 80 beats per minute or something*you can only put a number on human heartbeats, not the heartbeat of a game*maybe soul is a better word. You can’t put a number on soul. I agree with Michael Kay. I think the Yankees should abandon analytics immediately.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 10, 2018 Author Posted October 10, 2018 Torre used to use the word 'heartbeat' all the time and largely for the same purposes. You can probably get where Kay picked it up.
