Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 17, 2018 Posted April 17, 2018 Gross. Make them earn it, at least, for fuck's sake.
HahnSolo Old-Timey Member Posted April 17, 2018 Posted April 17, 2018 The first Turner AB of this inning is what really hit this shitshow going.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 17, 2018 Posted April 17, 2018 Geez, ya gotta make them earn it.Yeah they got a bunch of seeing eye hits, but none of them would have mattered without all the free passes and it's not like this is a good lineup right now.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted April 17, 2018 Posted April 17, 2018 I blame Jerry Blevins
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted April 17, 2018 Posted April 17, 2018 Well, at least we can say it's been a while since we had to go thru a game like this.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted April 17, 2018 Posted April 17, 2018 Well, we're in lolMets territory now.
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted April 17, 2018 Posted April 17, 2018 I had forgotten there was going to be actual losing at some point this season.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted April 17, 2018 Posted April 17, 2018 Why the fuck do you go to Ramos there?Gave Familia no safety net. For a guy who said he wasn’t going to save anyone for the ninth, this was some shitty bullpen management.

Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted April 17, 2018 Posted April 17, 2018 Nice double giving the team some life, followed up by pointless, boneheaded baserunning, killing any potential rally.
Guest 41Forever Guests Posted April 17, 2018 Posted April 17, 2018 He's had a couple of those this season.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted April 17, 2018 Posted April 17, 2018 I’m sick to my stomach. It takes stupidity to lose like that. Sickening.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted April 17, 2018 Posted April 17, 2018 All those walks. All the mistakes. I can’t believe this game.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted April 17, 2018 Posted April 17, 2018 And again, Ramos sucks and isn’t worth his salary. Gotta stop going with this walk machine.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted April 17, 2018 Posted April 17, 2018 You hope this isn't one of those games where later you say, 'boy, the season turned right there'. Because if the bullpen starts breaking down along with starters that can't get through 6 innings, there's Trouble in River City.Hopefully they shake it off and go get 'em tonight.
Guest 86-Dreamer Guests Posted April 17, 2018 Posted April 17, 2018 with a two run lead, two outs, and a sinkerball pitcher, why did Callaway choose to weaken his infield defense instead of using one of his two available starting outfielders in the double switch?
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 17, 2018 Posted April 17, 2018 This was very much a case of the Mets beating the Mets while the Nats stood there. It's not like the 2018 Mets haven't benefited from that scenario as well.

One game isn't a big deal in the course of a season. It's what happens afterwards. The bases loaded escape by deGrom was a big deal for that game, but it became more important because the Mets went on to sweep. Win the next two and it will be ok.It's just that the pitching matchups aren't in our favor as much as it was yesterday.Ever since I was kid, the Mets will lose a game in April that makes me lose my mind, then remind myself that it's just a game, and that it's a long season and that I should chill the fuck out. Yesterday was that game. Usually it comes much earlier.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted April 17, 2018 Posted April 17, 2018 Last year it was April 30. Thor tears a lat and they get blown out 23-5. Season pretty much ended right there.
