A-Rod says he should have signed with the Mets, and the reactions range from "Whatever" to "Fuck off, A-Roid."

Being able to argue about the lineup the Mets should have used in a game they won.

Road trips aren't a slog. Sunday night baseball is something less than torture.

Relatives who think you're a dope because of your stupid Mets allegiance are all reaching out to you with "How 'bout them Mets?" overtures. Toady office mates are stopping by your cube to commiserate on all things Mets. They can't pronounce "d'Arnaud," who has been in the league since 2013.

You recognize these overtures as attempts to use their relationship with you as a legitimate way to get on the bandwagon, and for now, don't even care that much.

You stayed up late for the game, and still got up early and got in to the office early, because sleeping on a win counts twice.

You get to make comparisons to past winning streaks from immortal seasons.

Some guys (Reyes) may not be on top of their games and others (Rosario) may be erratic, but there is an unspoken understanding among all Mets fans that there will be no whipping boys for the time being.

Food tastes better. Music sounds sweeter. Orgasms last longer.

You notice that Curtis Granderson is slashing .360/.448/.520 in April and think to yourself "Good for him!" rather than "Seriously dude? Four years of hitting .119 in April and you do this now?

143-19 seems doable.

Stops everyone from mentioning Tim Tebow.

Tebow's aura clearly had a lasting effect in the Mets as they left camp, I hope they can continue winning as it fades with him so far away

Nobody really notices when triple happiness goes down because the singular happiness of the winning has grown so removed from needing others to lose.

Just smiling at the YLDB at work and not saying a word, because he knows.

147-15 seems doable.

I wouldn;t dare predict the 18 Mets go more than 10 games over .500 for the year, knowing how impossible that mark is to get to in recent seasons. But jeez, just setting that as a baseline would be awesome

They were 18 games over in 2015, and 12 over in 2016. Of course, prior to 2015 there were six consecutive seasons where they failed to win 80 games.

We're going to win 80 before the end of April

WRITE IT DOWN.

Write it down, just don't write it down and hand it in as your math homework.
