I was just sent a copy of the settlement. This is all good. Price relief, increased availability, single team packages and this: Follow Your Team: MLB will allow all MLB.TV purchasers who subscribe to Comcast, DIRECTV, or certain other cable, satellite or other providers to purchase a "Follow Your Team" option that will allow them to receive telecasts of their favorite out-of-market team's broadcaster without any blackouts-even when it is playing an in-market team, so long as the purchaser receives the in-market team's programming through his or her television service. This product will cost no more than $10 more than a standard MLB.TV package, which will raise the overall price of the MLB.TV package to $119.99 for a full season in 2016 for consumers selecting this enhancement. I think that means I'd need to have SNY to qualify. I'm only supposed to get bumped by the Phils and I do get a lot of their games thru Comcast, including all the times they play the Mets. They've been much better than when I first subscribed (used to black me out for Pitts,Balt,Wash,&Philly). As long as they only block the Phils I'm good. The most important thing to me, aside from the live games is the archive. I have to take a look at the World Series games again to make the cards for those games. It's invaluable to be able to get to any Mets game from over the last...I don't know how many yrs. I re- watched Santana's no-no last season for the fun of it.

Greg, the article you linked (must have been fb) says Mejia is also banned from playing in Korea, Mexico or Japan. Why is that? Is that part of the MLB punishment? I figured the kid could still make a decent living playing ball, but not if he can't play anywhere else. OE:good piece. But I felt bad for Mejia the first and second time. 3rd time I was kinda angry.

Maybe that's a re-issue of some kind. I might be mis-remembering but the pencil drawings inside were not in color and if he was wearing a red uni on the cover I would have an issue with the re-issue. I want to say I'm 100% positive he was drawn as a Mets player, but I'm not. He definitely was wearing his Mets uni (not cards, not Astros-it was pinstriped) although it's very possible the team name and the NY were not used.

Wow, you guyz are great! I don't recall that being the cover (I remember a white cover), but that has to be it. Wish they gave us a peek inside.

I have looked for this book or the drawings from the book for years and I have never come across either. Does anyone else here remember this Outfielders Guide Book with Tommie Agee in it? "How to Play the Outfield", by Tommie Agee. I remember that book from elementary school. I never owned it, though. Early '70's. I think that Agee may not have even been a Met anymore when I first saw that book. I tried googling it for a picture of the cover, with no luck. It was by Tommie? Those drawings were so fantastic. I think it might have been one of those artists that worked for a NYC newspaper as well. Not Stark. They were very realistic portrayals, not caricature like. Don't think it was Gotto. That young I usually got my books from the library or the grade school book of the month club. I also don't think I owned the book, but did possess it for an extended time. I tried to draw the drawings.

dgwphotography wrote: I think it has to do with the way they are printed and cut - certain batches go to the 72 count boxes, others go to the blister packs, others go to the individual packs, and so on. I think buying a variety of packs gives you the best percentage of card variablity. I can tell you that in the brick packs the correlated batch flipped to an upside down card every 4 cards or so. I'm used to seeing a dozen cards or more before the flip, so that tells me they are mixing them much better. But of course, that's only within that batch. I should go back and see if there are any brick packs left of that same batch. Baseball cards don't sell like hot cakes around here. With those 72 card bricks (a stack of 72 cards wrapped in clear plastic inside a box that's like 4 times the size of the stack) I treat the cards like a bunch of packs. I'll look at 15 of em and then put the stack down. Pick it up an hour later and look at 15 more. Yea, I'm nutz.

Went looking for the reeling .gif but not finding it. One thing I can say about him is he had flair.

I hope he can handle the ridicule. [fimg=200]https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-ZVxmtQuiyJE/Vr65TpnBDnI/AAAAAAAAlhg/5ba0YramBSI/s576-Ic42/2016%252520mfcMEJIA%252520BANNED-z16.png[/fimg]

batmagadanleadoff wrote: Nah. Those cards were done months ago. I made about 30 Mets cards New Judge style. And that other style card was part of a crazy stalled project. I set out to do an entire set of 2015 cards -- one card for every single player who played a game. Players who played on multiple teams were to get multiple cards -- one for every team. So, for example, I did three Clippard cards, an A's, a Nats and a Mets card. I didn't even come close to finishing that idea. But I did do the entire Mets team. I love the concept. Very ambitious. batmagadanleadoff wrote: All I did today was stick that "Banned" stamp on one of the cards. If I was gonna do a Mejia card today from scratch, I woulda put Mejia on a '72 traded card, substituting "BANNED" for "TRADED". Here's the New Judge panel for Mejia, available on specially marked cartons of New Judge Cigarettes. If you make this card please allow me to display it. That's probably what I would have thought of (even though I really had no plans to make a card for this stupidity). Love the Judge cards. I've been tied up in tether making blernsball cards. This blernsball thing I'm working on is going to be insane. __[fimg=200]https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-kTlxfq3bWb0/Vr6dJp12bWI/AAAAAAAAlhQ/in5TZA-_PxU/s576-Ic42/2016mfc-JackieAnderson-z16.png[/fimg]__[fimg=300]https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-Y2HQQNGYbtk/Vr095vwZIkI/AAAAAAAAlb8/wI53CjRdJO4/s532-Ic42/2016mfcsalutesBlernsball001-z16.gif[/fimg]__[fimg=300]https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-JIGDmUjLcIA/Vr1T3xMzSBI/AAAAAAAAlcs/ssnMh3VkvXk/s636-Ic42/2016mfcsalutesBlernsball003-z16.gif[/fimg]

Yea, I guess this deserves a card. First player banned for life because of steroids? I didn't realize he was the first. I can't blame anyone but him. He was given a golden opportunity. And twice forgiven.

She needs one big tattoo to cover that face.

I'm gonna remember that he was a very stupid idiot.

Jeeze, I was trying to think of something to add and I forgot I made that. Well, ^ that. Clippy was an important factor for a very short, but needed, period of time. Then he ran out of gas. Good luck out there Clippard! OE: & Thank you TMF

I ran into this today. I don't recall it being shared here before, if it has, sorry. Grank Funk Railroad live at Shea Stadium. They really sounded good. This is the first time I've ever seen any footage from the GFR show @Shea. I read that structural engineers were worried about the stadium being damaged. I thought that was bullshit until I saw the end of this vid. How did that dugout not collapse? [youtube:3bj4bpr8]z1UujH1v6WU[/youtube:3bj4bpr8]

That's great work. I'm gonna want to use that Blernsball logo. I don't think one can be made much better than that one. PeterParkerPA created that. Very kool. The thing on Hanks chest under the Braves is a Trident. Poseidon, god of the sea, carried one. I believe the logic involved might stem from a different Futurama episode where we find that the fabled city of Atlanta sunk under the sea.

I'm making a Leela blernsball card and of course, I'm getting carried away. Hank Aaron the 23rd should get a card, as well as Jackie Anderson. The Mets new owner was Abner Doubledeal, lolol. And I just realized I will need to design a New New York Mets team logo for the card. How kool is that? I didn't notice the business with the Braves uni back when. That's pretty classic. If that red mark is the end of the dugout, I was right behind that guys head. I don't recall if the wooden containment wall fell again on the last out, but since it fell earlier I figure it did again. I was right up against it at the last out, literally one of the first to set foot on the field. We didn't just run out onto the field. We burst out onto the field like a freakin' explosion. I didn't make a move forward, I was projected forward, out onto the field. [fimg=500:36kf3lrw]https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-TQqu2LfeKzo/VrfM_DLO1JI/AAAAAAAAlHI/8a0JLChCdqw/s912-Ic42/73nlcsroute.jpg[/fimg:36kf3lrw] Shame I didn't get to see that sign when he held it up. I don't think many did. I was well aware of Karl and his signs since my first days at Shea and being at a game with him in attendance was always extra special.

I thought I was doing horrible but I ended up with a dozen Mets cards. That's not bad. I'm not counting the World Series cards ( I got 2) which I will be counting as Mets cards even if it only has the team name on the back (One has Cueto, the other has Escobar, Gordon, & d'Arnaud). Got the two top cards on my wantlist (for the entire set), Mets and "other". The Conforto rook (reg- if I ever get the camo, great, if not, don't care) and the Kris Bryant future star. The correlation was very good. No doubles within packs (I know u get more for your buck but I still don't like those giant brick packs), card order within packs is broken down nicely. I thought I got a double of the GOODEN MLB DEBUT card but on closer inspection one has silver font and one has gold font. Everything else on the two cards are identical, but one is slightly tinted gold. What's the deal with that? I did get doubles of Wilmer and Familia. I got...I guess it's a parallel Cuddyer (it's rainbowy). And a first pitch card with Victor Espinoza in a Mets jersey. [u:3pr8jage]Special cards[/u:3pr8jage] [u:3pr8jage]Bergers Best:[/u:3pr8jage] I usually don't like throwback cards that don't have a regular old stat card back, but I'll make an exception with these because there's a neat portrait drawing of Sid on the card back. [u:3pr8jage]Perspectives:[/u:3pr8jage] Kinda kool and different. I like the alt gold border look this year. They put some thought into that. The rest like BACK TO BACK and PRESSED INTO SERVICE are garbage, at least til I see a Met on one. DGW: I got the Houston Street too. That's the only card I've seen that does not have the double corner fade look. Only has the fade at the bottom. I like the design but once again, feels more like Stadium Club, and the cropping of team logos was a silly move. I mean, they pay oodles to use these logos and then then chop em up. At least ours says Met. The Yankees are the Kees.

Just cracked my first pack. First card of the 2016 (Olbermann says it doesn't matter but I strongly disagree): Hunter Pence. First Mets card: That Gooden MLB Debut (seen above) but the back of mine says silly, unbelievable stuff. First regular Mets card: Niese. Meh. A 36 card pack. 2 Mets. The Gooden...maybe worth 3 regular common Mets. I did good. 5 bucks a pack though. That's kind of extreme. What do kids get for an allowance these days? Like 50 bucks? I got 2 of those 72 card boxes (10$). I don't think I like these if the cards come all in one stack (just looked, they do, gah-better not be any doubles). I like the individual packs that come boxed. But this was all they had boxwise.
