  1. GAAAaaah. I'll take a productive out. LETS GO METS!!!!
  2. Niiiice. Plant one Walker.
  3. This ESPN booth: It's like they have a list of talking points and when they get through them they go back to the start and go through them again. And this is like the 6th go round.

Like the Mets scouts are Donald Trump or something. Iva already gone to radio but they're several pitches ahead What would that be on the dial? AM? FM? 710 am Thnx. I think my garage AM radio is done for. It has one volume now. LOUDEST!!!!! And the station/dial thing doesn't want to turn any more. Sometimes it does. It has served me well. *takes off Mets cap I was thinking time to get a new little cheapo radio for the garage but where the hell do you get a radio these days?
  5. Here we go again with the WS balllicking.. CONFORTO!!! Hmmm, stays at 2nd.

Iva already gone to radio but they're several pitches ahead What would that be on the dial? AM? FM? The opening fly to Cespedes: OY! wtf man. ESPN box: develop the tech where I can turn that off and on from my remote or get that shit off my screen. They should have one hooked up to the umps brain and adjusted to his strike zone, not the dreamperfect strikezone.
  7. Campbell & Rivera go back to back! 8-1 Mets
  8. Cespedes finally goes yard! 2-0 Mets
  9. We discover he has a bionic eye and he pitches like the robot in that Twilight Zone and we all rejoice.

That said, no, I don't know that there's any benefit to keeping this sealed. 65-66-67 were the years I was waiting for and for 67 they missed the color and gloss. Cheap stock maybe. Stock feels super solid to me. If I fling one at someone they better duck. But yes, it's finish is almost the opposite of gloss, which is disappointing. You can't get any flatter than that. I also got a Josh Donaldson refractor, although not blue bordered like the deGrom. White border. With this set the gloss look of the refractor makes the regular card look extra dull. So the refractors would be the way to go with these, and who can be bothered? If I get one in a pack or box great, if not I'm not gonna go too crazy. The hobby is becoming too elite for me.
  11. I couldn't keep it closed. I did horrible overall, only 7 Mets out of 105 cards. But 2 of the cards made up for it. So when I saw the Conforto Rook I was like: [fimg=400]https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-fHPcR4sW3bA/Vv2jzEoExRI/AAAAAAAAmTg/N112QdPgqXYHsUrTn4-1XXQ49QHAOJpmwCCo/s720-Ic42/HERTGConforto-Nola%2BROOK.png[/fimg] Conforto shares a rookie card with Nola! The locals are very high on Nola. In 15 years this card will be worth a mint. ha And then when I got the deGrom refractor I was like: [fimg=400]https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-qAkXPrd5Y70/Vv2j0NmdJdI/AAAAAAAAmTk/Ol1Y-V1UfJ0j6aMNTeH99y0KY93lE4LlwCCo/s512-Ic42/deGromHERTGrefractor.png[/fimg]
  12. Time to take this stuff down from the attic.
  13. haHA. No guys, there's no way Duda ever looks like Carew batting. Although that was a fine piece of hitting, thank you.
  14. Jeez, that Grimm guy is in midseason form. I hope we don't see him again any time soon (not counting next inning if he stays in).
  15. I'm so spoiled by technology. I want to know Robles's velocity and this Cubs feed doesn't show it. And they're not talking about it. I thought he was doing well--he looked flat there.
  16. Ugh, that hung with no break.
  17. Niiice pick off. David's throws have become a sticking point with me. Does he throw side arm all the time now because of the back? I know he's been doing it for quite a while- has he always thrown everything side arm? I seem to recall a day he threw some stuff overhand.

  19. Oh, great effort by Grandy! Why can't Grandy play center and Cespedes in right? Keep Conforto in left and have Lags spell em' all.
  20. Edgy MD wrote: And now we're mid-game and down 3-1. Would sure be nice to go into the season without a monkey on their backs. There are no monkeys in spring.
  21. So I picked up my first Heritage cards this season. I prefer packs but they didn't have any, only the small blister boxes with a brick of 35 cards in plastic. I got 3 boxes @10 bucks each. I figure these are from the same batch and I'm hoping for minimal doubles. So I ripped open my first box and I get this: Now back in the day while collecting Mets cards I saved cello & rack packs if they had Mets on top. Not always, but if it was a Strawman or Gooden, Keith or Carter,..in other words my favorite Mets. I had a fantastic collection (also non Mets- like a Cello w/Boggs rook on top). I remember when I got Gregg Jefferies FUTURE STAR card on top of a rack pack I thought-"I'm gonna save this and make a MINT in about 15 years." Haha. I no longer have that collection and now I am debating whether I should open this or save it. If it was a player it would be a very hard call to make. I'd deff save a Reynolds rook. Is Conforto's Heritage a rookie? Would any of you other collectors save it unopened? I also have to add- ugh, I hate to nitpick but to me it matters. The printing & font of METS on the 1967 Topps card is not a difficult thing to reproduce in its exactitude. I do it all the time. But 2016 Heritage couldn't get it right. Wtf? And it's a simple case of the space between the letters. Now you may say this is anal, but a card border is like a finger print to me and I see no good reason why they shouldn't match. They could have pulled the M closer to the other letters, or could have spaced them equally off the M. Instead they do both. Shoddy. Actual 67' Topps card:

  23. Dillon Gee says retaliation talk isn't even in the wind. "That's New York media for you."
