  1. I've never just hung out on twitter before. I'll pop in and out of there once in awhile. It's such a wickedly fast pace there. In the time it took to type this I've received over a dozen tweets (not all Mets, of course). I'm hoping to hear more details about this.

Everything should be orange and blue, or just blue. EVERYTHING! I kid (not really). No, being that the Mets primary color is blue I wouldn't be surprised at all. I would salute such a move. I've long felt that making all the ads some form of blue and orange should be mandatory. ...exactly!
  3. Bloody nose? Who's in line behind Mattman for the opener?

  5. Evidence that it might turn blue on occasion (that could have been tint tilted but I didn't do it).

  7. It seems that Cespedes does not play the left-centerfield gap well. Looks like he's weak on the backhand side. We almost had a replay of the WS gm 1 play today. Yoenis was fortunate it didn't hit him. It bounced over the wall for a GRD. He was hustling and all. Looked like he got there. He just gave it a lame backhanded effort.

  9. Just saw Wright's homer. Nice to see, but I need to see him pull one.
  10. Wow. 5 ties, a spring training team record.
  11. Another game ending in a tie? Gah!
  12. I just read in an article that the new CocaCola sign display will "do stuff." Supposedly impressive stuff. So impressive the rep said he couldn't elaborate. No link, sorry. It was in an actual newspaper-one of the NYC rags.
  13. I feel so much hinges on Familia progressing in the right direction. I love that his WS blown games have not become magnified or a bad rallying point for fans, and how he really seems to have put them behind him. I'm not too concerned over his spring. But we do need him to at least be what he was last year during the season. The consistency he brought cannot be overestimated. I'll tell you what I want him to do: Break Benitez record for saves. 45 saves, 2.22 ERA
  14. First time I heard his name I thought with a name like that he shoulda been a drummer.
  15. I came here to pay my respects in his memories thread. Where is it?
  16. On the up side I really like what I'm seeing from Lagares (plus Thor & Reynolds today), who I figured for the bench (& still do). Keith says it's good problem to have but not when you want Conforto playing as much as possible. This will be interesting.
  17. I'm getting sick of these tie games. The new guy in the booth is not bad. He certainly knows how to bait a hook for Keith and Ron. His questions have led to informing conversations. When he was a kid Keith tried to get Wilt The Stilt's autograph and Wilt said no!
  18. Awwwwwww. [fimg=400:1vsoerw3]https://scontent-lga3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xfp1/t31.0-8/12891559_1170428302990031_4641385465783932020_o.jpg[/fimg:1vsoerw3]
  19. A Wilmer Jones card! Niiiiiiiiiiiice.
  20. John Cougar Lunchbucket wrote: Mets are having a terrible spring training. They've lost 7 games in a row and barely scored in any of them. Harvey's pitched like shit in his last 2. deGrom has been shaky and low-velocity, Wright is increasingly looking like a Teixera type who'll be lucky to get a half-season in and I think we have to be concerned about a potential controversy in the outfield if Cespedes continues to play this shitty. ST means nothing I know, but just saying: Last year we had a very good spring training. This year the Nats and Phils are. I have noticed this and it has occurred to me over the last few days. Awful fundies on cutoff men and stuff like that. Surprisingly bad. deGroms velocity means nothing to me if he's K'n the side and stringing shutout innings. I'm more concerned about Matz (& I was about Colon til last outing). We've miscounted our chickens before. I hope Matz is up to the task. Yea, it's spring and all but I doubt things are going the way the team would like them to go, even at this phase. It's just easier to shake off. I was both shocked and amused at Cespedes play in center today. But that's some of what we will have to deal with. I think he feels like sometimes he's above doing such things, like bending over. Well, fine, then you better offset that by doing wonderful offensive things, Yoenis.
  21. What a fantastic photo. I didn't know the two went that far back. RIP Joe.
  22. [fimg=444]http://i.imgur.com/KWA1Qt0.png[/fimg] Is it really necessary to include that Johnny Manziel text circle on the cover? It's the Baseball Issue ferchrissakes. Boy have magazine covers in general gone downhill over the last 10-15 years. Every magazine cover looks the same: a celebrity and the entire table of contents as a wall of text plastered all over everything. SI included, although this cover is not that bad, at least in comparison to what SI now routinely puts out. There's a lot of beautiful clouds down there in Florida this time of year.
  23. I picked up two 2016 Baseball magazines 2 or 3 weeks ago. One was the Sporting News, don't recall the other. Ya know, the annual BASEBALL issues. They picked the Mets to repeat in the east and the N.L. overall. And I thought, oh, that's kinda scary. But at the same time I feel that way, no question. I haven't felt this confident in a Mets team since 1988. So I read on-I always go right to the Mets pages and read them first- and it goes on to say we will have a tougher time of it because of the offensive holes presented by the loses of Dan Murphy and Yoenis Cespedes. And I was like, WHAT! Both magazines went to press before we got Cespedes back! I didn't notice, they must have been out for awhile. Not even sure if they had Walker penciled in at second. But the thing that got me was that they were picking the Mets to repeat as N.L. Champs BEFORE WE GOT CESPEDES BACK! And then my legs got all rubbery and my knees got all weak and I fainted.
  24. I think the white wall has become my white whale.
