I was at that game. With the Red Sox sweeping the Mets it looked that they were a team that would steamroll into the playoffs and the Mets might struggle. Turned out the other way around.

My mother was a big fan growing up in the Bronx, but fortunately for me, by the time she reached adulthood her interest in baseball had waned to a mere token appreciation of the Yanks. I had to make a category for her since I couldn't wouldn't shouldn't ever call her any of those names.

OK, so I've officially decided that 2008 is the anti-2007. Last season the Mets were a hot team playing top notch baseball until the end of the series with the Yankees in May. From that point on they played inconsistent to bad baseball. THIS YEAR, the Yankees series will END their inconsistent to bad malaise and kick off five & a half months of smokin', kick-ass Mets baseball like you've never seen before on the grounds of Shea. You heard it here first.
