  2. ]Need Slugging 1B - Omar Minaya
  3. I think the whole "coming in at the top of the 9th to get three outs and a save" thing is something that doesn't deserve a lot of reward much of the time. If Wagner did the Jamesian thing and came in during tough situations regardless of inning he'd get more points (or not, if he sucked at it).

  5. Keyspan Energy is now National Grid. Does this mean a renaming of the Cyclones' home?
  6. I'm sick of Yankee crap in this forum. We should start a Yankee sub-forum.
  7. A-Rod will gladly pay you Tuesday for a hamburger today. Except that today is Tuesday so expect payment next Tuesday.
  8. Oooh, dueling Straw threads. The other one hasn't been Rogered yet.
  9. Wow, it's hard to remember an era with Strawberry, Kingman & Foster all together at the heart of the order. Now if they were all together during their primes that would've been kickass.
  10. Clemens is channeling Dick Cheney in that pic.
  11. Well, yeah, I figured that, but I was having fun with it. Youse could play along you know? I mean that photo doesn't even link to anything so it's pretty incongruous if you ask me.
  12. Hank Zipzer the star character in a series of books by Henry Winkler about a boy with learning disabilities loves the Mets. Bet his favorite player is Fonzie.
  13. What's going on here? He's kind of old, but he's tough.
  14. More Bright Side material. Thanks!
  15. You were working as a singer in a karaoke bar When I met you I picked you out, I shook you up, and turned you around Turned you into someone new Now thirteen years later on you've got the world at your feet Success has been so easy for you But don't forget its me who put you where you are now And I can put you back down too
  16. 2-3 from the top team in the league. This May will go down in Mets history as the start of something good. You heard it here first.
  17. In a game I watched earlier this season, the announcer actually said that Pagan preferred the English pronunciation of Angel. Whether the announcer was correct or misinformed, I don't know.
  18. My family didn't have a VCR until 1984 (we were always late adapters). I think I taped only two games: Game 7 of the 1986 WS and Tom Seaver Day in 1988. I think they're both long gone.

  21. Regular season games in October are similarly slighted in PotM.
  22. AG/DC wrote: ="Benjamin Grimm"]Where'd THAT come from?
  23. 1-0 in the New Era.
  24. Cheer up, people! It's May 2nd. The Mets are ready to kick ass and take names. The run to the pennant begins today. You heard it here first.
