  2. Benjamin Grimm wrote: Yeah. Glavine's greatest sin was daring to put on a Mets uniform. ...and sucking in the Mets uniform. ...and frequently running up the pitch count and leaving the game after 5 innings. ...and losing to the Braves pretty much every time out. ...and selfishly putting pursuit of individual milestones ahead of the team. ...giving up nine runs in 4.1 innings and having the nerve to slam his teammates in the postgame interview. ...and being a clubhouse cancer. ...and completely blowing the last chance the Mets had to get into the playoffs in 2007. Other than that he was a peach.
  3. First time in over 100 years the the Cubs have won four consecutive games with a margin of 6 runs or more.
  4. Ditto. He's a Brave I can like and respect.

  7. Why don't we start hitting him now. Lets go Mets!

  9. Big time for Delgado. No better time to break out of a slump.

  12. Goofing off on the job officially begins. I'm watching the enthralling pitch-by-pitch on mlb.com.
  13. I've been to Washington a gazillion times, but somehow I've never been in the part of the city where the new ballpark is located. It looks like its sandwiched between two military installations. Perhaps you can eat at the commissary. AG, is there a Metro stop nearby?
  14. I went to Ben's Chili Bowl last summer. Great place.
  15. Don't remind me. I was in that line feeling like I was being herded like cattle when a "New York Sucks!" chant broke out. I felt very alone in my Mets cap and concerned that I would end up as a victim of a swirly in the trough.
  16. Manheim's franchise should really be the Steamrollers.
  17. Bonn Capitals? Bonn hasn't been the capital for more than 15 years!
  18. Chicago's a fun place to see a game. Saw a game there with Farmer Ted four years ago. Have an Old Style for me.
  19. Haven't seen either. Haven't heard of Federal Hill. Well, I've heard of the hill, not the movie. Might just vote for Providence out of my New England chauvinism.
  20. Valadius wrote: There's room directly between the Washington Monument and the Jefferson Memorial. Apropos location.
  21. I'm more confused than I was before, but I was able to add this to my Netflix queue so I should be seeing it soon after all.
  22. themetfairy wrote: DDL sees someone in a restaurant whom he feels has previously dissed him. The line comes up in the middle of a rant. Is the person drinking a milkshake?
  23. I haven't seen this movie and with my track record probably won't see it for a while, but continually hearing the quotation and not knowing what it means is driving me nuts. Would someone be able to explain the context of the milkshake thing in a simple, non-spoilerific way?
  24. Benjamin Grimm wrote: Well, it's too late for that, of course. His plaque already has an Expos cap. Nothing a Sharpie can't fix.
