  2. You're just prejudice against overweight, Catholic, alcoholic orphans of German ancestry and what they've done for baseball. More reason for overweight, Catholic, alcoholic orphans of German ancestry to have their hero recognized.
  3. Washingtonians drive like maniacs. People from NoVA drive like homicidal maniacs. I wouldn't want to be close to any place where these folks are driving en masse either.

  5. Vic Sage wrote: a "cooling off period" is necessary to let the temporal distortion fade, so the films can be assessed and discussed more rationally. No it isn't. A list is an artifact of the time it is made. Compare a list from today to one from 20 years ago and you can see which films were overvalued and undervalued at that time. Not to mention that a list is just one person - or at best a small group of editors - idea of the "best of all time." A movie is good or isn't, a person likes it or doesn't. Setting arbitrarily time limits just stifles intellectualism and discussion. To sum up, you're wrong.
  6. I couldn't help but notice how happy and healthy Torre looked last night, even when his team was losing.
  7. metirish wrote: I would cut him and cut Delgado , and Willets. Have you seen the size of my contract? You better believe that AG and KC wouldn't want to eat that. You're stuck with me, bub. Mwahahaha!
  8. Wow, a positive Castillo thread. What a few wins can do to change the nattering nabobs of negativism in this forum.
  9. Delgado scored that run in a sucky, should-be-released manner.
  10. Heh-heh....he said Bonoriffic.
  11. Jose gets a hit, breaking the spell of Kuo.
  12. Yeah Muniz. Nice to get out #3 with lead intact.
  13. Delgado should be released! A sack of baseballs would have been able to get a double play there. Carlos sucks!
  14. The Dodgers scored a lot while I was fighting with a washing machine with an unbalanced load. Good thing the Mets have a good padding already.
  15. Good game so far. Mets up 2-0. Too bad I'm the only one commenting on it because I'm a bit rusty on IGT's.
  16. Vic Sage wrote: yet more proof that "best ever" lists should not include films from the last 10-15 years; As always I disagree with this as the lists are the "best ever" at the time the list is composed and are primarily for discussion anyhow.
  17. Wright is my homey.
  18. ="SteveJRogers"]Well, here I am in the IGT, and I WASN'T EVEN SUPPOSED TO BE HERE TODAY! Long story, don't worry, not going to tell it... Missed the bus to the Yankee fan game-watching party?

  23. Another dose of perspective for those who've given up on this team. Last year on this date, the Philadelphia Phillies were 26-25 and a whopping 7 games back. The Mets by comparison are a bit worse in W-L at 25-26 but only 4.5 games out. The Mets could be the 2007 Phillies of 2008.
  24. AG/DC wrote: Oliver Perez as the co-leader on one of tonight's ballots? Sounds like something I'd do since I'm an Oliver fanboi. But it wasn't me.
  25. metirish wrote: The Mets are a circus now, what will it be like when a Polynesian fire knife dancing player comes abroad? Personally, I think that would be freakin' awesome.
