  2. "frompy"? Without her chest, Maggie's heart and lungs would keep falling out, so her frompiness would be the least of her problems.
  3. Maggie is as hot as a cat on a tin roof. or something. Secretary -- mmmmm, baby... thank you, sir, may she have another? Stranger than Fiction -- not naked, but i understood why will ferrell fell in love with her. drew = adorable reese = scary stepford girl
  4. SILVER SURFER SEQUEL Fox has already put a feature spinoff into development that will star the enigmatic Surfer, with J. Michael Straczynski currently crafting the screenplay... ... it apparently hopes to spin the new Surfer franchise in a darker direction to attract the slightly older demographic of its X-Men films.

  8. I tuned in to ESPN at 10 to see the show and got stuck watching the HR derby, which i have no interest in. Aggravated, I switched over to FSNY to watch the Knicks summer league game (which was highly entertaining by the way... the kid Chandler looked terrific!). Bonehead move by ESPN... highly publicized mini-series gets delayed about an hour? They should have showed it either before the derby or on another night where they didn't have some open-ended show leading into it. Now i didn't see the 1st episode, so its highly unlikely i'll watch any of the rest.

The Covenant (2006) - CRAFTless and CHARMless, 9021Omigod. somebody kill him before he films again.
  12. if they go full out with the Norse Mythology and Asgard, it could be an epic movie... or they could go the campy-cheeseball route and it'll suck.
  13. watched it on cable... disturbing, but mesmerizing movie. Especially awful was the Goebbels family sub-plot.
  14. I've read that David Goyer is set to do the Magneto movie, after Fox is done with the Wolverine movie.

  16. Michael Bay movies are loud, stupid and obnoxious. Though many are entertained by his brand of action movie, i think he sucks BHMC. Bad Boys (1995) The Rock (1996) Armageddon (1998) Pearl Harbor (2001) Bad Boys II (2003) The Island (2005) "The Rock" is the best of this excerable bunch, made watchable by virtue of the presence of Mr. Connery. Furthermore, TRANSFORMERS was a phenomenon well after my time, so it has no emotional resonance for me. All that being said, my son has indicated a desire to see it, so i may end up seeing it any way. I'm hoping to stall him until its out on DVD.
  17. THE WARRIORS was David Patrick Kelly's first movie. http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0446314/ Kelly was later in Walter Hill's 48 HOURS, too. He's generally a psychotic bad guy. The last i saw him doing his whacked out villain/henchman shtick was in THE CROW, which is (for my money) one of the top 5 comicbook adaptations ever made.

  19. 500 HRs for Thomas. Looking at his career numbers, he's got all the HOF credentials you could ask for... but the most common defensive position he played throughout his career was "DH". Will voters hold that against him? And how devalued will his numbers be, considering he generated them during the steroid era? I guess the first test of the HOF-worthiness of a full-time DH will first be tested in a few years by Edgar Martinez. But he's a borderline candidate, compared to Thomas. To be clear, i don't think it should matter much at all that he was a DH a majority of his career. Same for Martinez. But i've heard writers speak dismissively of DHs as HOFers. The same is true of their intentions regarding steroids-era players in general. Will that combo be enough to derail Thomas's enshrinement? I don't think he's ever been specifically identified as a steroids cheat, but he does have an abnormally large physique and could be tarred with that brush by those who are looking for a reason not to vote for a DH. thoughts?
  20. ]Maybe what the Mets need is to drop out of first place? maybe what you need is to drop out of a window from a great height?
