  1. your success rate for prognostication with regard to firstbasemen is not much better, Rottweiler!
  2. last night's game...Rafael Arroyo (c). He's 5' nothing... practically a smurf. Armand Gaerlan (2b) has incredible range, and made a couple of terrific plays. Also got a key hit late in the game. BRING HIM UP NOW!Timothy Grogan (3b). I have no recollection of him doing anything in particularJonathan Malo (ss) hit at the top of the order, looked pretty quick. I think he's from Montreal. DJ "shhh, i'm hunting" Wabick (1b) failed to scoop a low throw that could have been costly.Jesus Gamero,Greg Gonzalez and Caleb Stewart were in the OF. Each hit and fielded well. Gamero hit a 2-run hr and Gonzalez made a couple of great catches in CF.i don't remember who the pitchers were. The starter was a righty, and did pretty well and showed some poise. the reliever got lit up. the team was running, forcing errors, bunting for hits, hitting behind the runner... all the "smallball" stuff. Mookie must've gotten the memo from WWSB.a great night at the park. Constantine from "american idol" sang the anthem!
  3. it was a great night at the park. Clones have a second baseman, armand something or other, who made a couple of terrific plays and got a key hit late in the game. I say bring him up now!there was also a Venezuelan HS OFer who hit a 2-run HR. the team was running and bunting WAAAAY too much. Doesn't Mookie know that BIFL?... oh, and "Relish" finally won the hotdog/condiment race!
  4. tomorrow night (tuesday 6/21) against the S.I. Yanks. I'm gonna be there... anybody else?
  5. ]Mets down 3-1. Bletran , Floyd, Piazza due up. What are the odds of a 1-2-3 inning? 83.34%
  6. wright 2nd?its about freakin' time!WWSB may actually have bought a clue...
  7. the 160$M the city will have to kick in actually SAVES the city money, because otherwise we're contractually bound to provide upgrades for Shea that have been estimated at $200m. So, since Freddie is paying, I'm all for a new stadium. Because, as i've said on many occasions, Shea is a shithole.as for the look of the new stadium --I'm against arbitrary asymmetry. Thats justa lotta crap.I'm for a dome, so i don't broil in July-august or freeze on opening day and during playoffs.I'm for a pitcher's park, but with very little foul territory, so the seats can be close to the action. This means deep fences. I'm for parking closer to the stadium, with multiple multi-level garages with numerous entrances/exits. I'm for a 45,000-50,000 capacity, as long as the seats all face the infield, and aren't so far under an overhang as to create obstructed views. I'm for an authentic multi-ethnic food court (like Eutaw St at Camden, but better) located where the chop shops are now, to add a requisite Queensian element. I'm for naming it Rheingold Park, but howabout Kiner's Korner? I frankly don't care what they name it if selling the naming rights generates significant enough revenue to pay for better players.Whether the stadium ends up being labeled "modern" or "retro" or is something indescribable doesn't really matter to me, as long as the design recalls both the Dodger/Giants roots of the team (celebrating the history of NL baseball in nyc), the uniquely Metsian early 60s World's Fair design concepts in which the team originated, and 21st century technology for comfort and utility.
  8. I totally agree with Rotblatt about Dunn.wait, did i say that? :?:
  9. Yippee!
  10. Dear Yancy,I would like my former posting lever restored to me, please!Sincerely,TAHFKANR :?: (The A--hole formerly known as Norrin Radd)
  11. ]why move him when he's doing just fine where he is", of all the stupid things WWSB has said, this is certainly one of them.yeah, DW is doing just fine. And, as the Mets keep absorbing ABs by lesser hitters at the top of the order, and as DW's ABs are diminished therefore, by hitting at the end of the order, DW is sure doing fine but the Mets are most certainly NOT. WWSB keeps talking about keeping davey down at the bottom because he's young and they shouldn't put pressure on him. But Reyes is young, and Wee Willie keeps putting the ReyHey kid (and his sub-.300 OB%) up at the top of his order. why is Reyes more able to stand the pressure than Wright? By all accounts, DW has a mature, unperturbable nature that has allowed him to handle pressure just fine. But somehow the Mets are better off giving more ABs to Cairo, Matsui and Reyes? :?:
  12. there is actually a chance i'll need to be in DC the week of July 4-11, so i might suddenly be available. can i put a tentative hold on the ticket until i can figure out my work schedule :?:
  13. you don't mean "confidence"... you mean "cahnnnfidence", right? :?:
