  1. Feliciano. I'm openly, totally pro-sidewinders. If I ever pitch in a baseball game again, I actually have much more movement and speed sidearmed, and I always wished my Little League coaches would have let me do it.
  2. AIG sponsored Endy's bobblehead! That's brilliant.
  3. .260/10/30 in about 250 AB.
  4. I love sidearmers, so I want him to be a piece of the puzzle, but there are a lot of arms in the mix. Doesn't make the team in April, but puts in 35 reasonably effective innings over the summer. 4.00ish ERA, 1.30ish WHIP.
  5. I think the Duda Bides, although Burnitz is a scary parallel. .260/33/88 in 140 games.
  6. Tall. Threw four strong innings, then gave up six runs in the fifth in roughly every start, IIRC.
  7. I got Centeno at 72 too.

Right, but that one season was at the end. You would have figured -- like Kaline in 1974 -- that he would have found his way into the DH spot once or twice.

  10. Someone figure out who won. viewtopic.php?f=1&t=18988

That's interesting, considering he spent two years in Toronto AND has had injury problems, which you'd think most NL teams tend to couch in AL parks by sticking a guy at DH for a game or two. I did a by-no-means comprehensive search of good fielders, and Ozzie Smith was the only other player I could find in the DH era who hasn't played at least one game at DH or another position. I'm sure there are more, but none come to mind. I thought Brooks Robinson might have been one, but though he never DHed (he played until '77) he played a few at 2B and SS early in his career. I bounced quickly down the list of all-time games played leaders, and that's it, except for Luis Aparicio -- 2599 games, all at short -- but he retired after 1973, so he only had one DH-eligible season, and the Sox in 1973 had Orlando Cepeda DHing every day. Al Kaline played 2834 games (17th all time), but lasted until his 22nd season, in 1974, where he DHed all year.
  12. Looks like a stupid Greg Maddux.

  14. 3/12 or 3/13 are both good for me.
  15. Wayne Garrett.
  16. Kevin McReynolds.
  17. Here we go: Baseball America's Top 20 in 2001 Check out some of these names. Lots of hits, but also some complete whiffs and in-betweens too. 1. Josh Hamilton, of, Devil Rays 2. Corey Patterson, of, Cubs 3. Josh Beckett, rhp, Marlins 4. Jon Rauch, rhp, White Sox 5. Ben Sheets, rhp, Brewers Rauchie's in every thread, today. He's tall. That happens.

  20. 9/7/2001?
  21. Didn't he have VIDA on the back of jersey for a little while?
  22. If he still has that beard, I wonder how many ignorant fans will call "RA!" across the parking lot to him.
  23. I hate our local hobby shop. I think they're a bunch of d-bags. But they're literally the only game in town, so I don't have much by way of choice. That said, I have remarkable luck there. I've bought only three packs there in the past year or so, and yet I've pulled three autographed cards: a Madison Bumgarner out of 2012 Topps S2, an Addison Russell (A's draft pick) out of 2012 Bowman Draft, and then yesterday, Dodgers infielder Dee Gordon out of 2013 Topps S1. Go figure.
  24. I think I'm done purging my roster. I have a crapton of salary cap room, and I'm meeting with the city council next week to build me a new stadium. How does Draft Day work?
