  1. Z, those are fricking amazing. We need a new CPF shirt design. Will we get sued if we use this? (Probably. Dammit.)

  3. ...you might as well be wearing a GLAVINE 47 shirt. http://m.mlb.com/video/topic/6479266/v36345869/wshatl-fan-goes-for-ball-gets-hit-in-face

We'll see if they're up for making the drive in.

Who will take up the banner to represent all that is Yankees about the Yankees? Gardner? Tanaka? I imagine Yankee fans aren't feeling it. There's a feeling out there that MLB has spent so long proclaiming Jeter the one pure lamb in a forest of evil wolves that the whole sport is primed for a post-Jeter letdown. I'm not ready to buy it, but... Yankees missing the postseason two years in row minus Jeter plus a young, exciting Mets team plus Matt Harvey = ??? I am intrigued. Buy us a shortstop (Hanley?) and an outfielder (the Cuban kid?), Sandy, and let's win this city back.
  8. Frayed Knot wrote: So Jeter is now 0 for his last 24 ABs (and 5 for September) How cool would it be if this streak continued for all or most of his remaining games? You know that would never happen, but IF IT DID, I'd bet dollars to donuts that whoever's pitching the last game of the year tells his infield to sit down and lobs one underhand for him.
  9. Good piece. They talk about Scott Rolen, and I thought, "yeah, but he's more of a Red or a Phillie," and then I looked up and found that Rolen played more than 1800 of his over 2000 games in a red uniform of some kind. (Six and a half seasons with the Phils, five and a half with the Cards, and three and a half with the Reds.)
  10. Sweet! I'm holding out hope that Stony Brook grad Nick Tropeano winds up starting one of those three games, in which case I'll try to be there.
  11. Trope made his debut last night: five innings, two runs, five K's, and a win. Hell yeah.
  12. Fuckin' hell, Mets.

Rotate 'em around so everyone gets a chance to play every position. Who knows? Maybe Lucas Duda is a world-class shortstop just NOBODY EVER GAVE HIM THE CHANCE.
  15. John Cougar Lunchbucket wrote: April and September are nearly all division and MFYs. It's too bad we'll already have the division clinched by those MFY games, but we could be the team that eliminates them from their own race.
  16. The best thing about starting the season with 23 out of 26 in the division is that when we win twenty of those (and sweep whatever team of d-bags we play in the middle), we'll have a nice lead early.
  17. Short leash? Only four managers in MLB had been with their teams longer.
  18. Just how I planned it. Sort of. Mike Dunn is 10-6, all in relief. Seems like an awful lot of decisions for a reliever.
  19. Willie Randolph?
  20. Seriously? Yadier Molina and Adam Wainwright are on the roster and you picked Randy Choate, who I had no idea was even still alive?

Why would he come out and say it's too much in a season that's basically been designed to be all about him? I know. It's already gone too far. I'm just saying.

What anb opportunity! denDekker is the local boy, having grown up in Ft., Lauderdale. deGrom is from a swampy DeLeon Springs up there near Daytona. Yes! All this! Against the Marlins' bullpen, after eight shutout innings from TK.
