  1. Daniel Murphy is now dead to me, as Jose Reyes once was.
  2. "You know, I spend some time in the hospital, and I come back and find that we've signed Cabrera and De Aza. Clearly I need to not take so many sick days."
  3. Nymr83 wrote: i dont think any of those guys go in on the first ballot, Pudge probably gets 50%. Agree. Pudge will be closest -- and will get in eventually -- but the others won't. Posada will linger around 30% for his full ten years and then go away, which will be funny.
  4. I love David, but he's 33 and hasn't played a full season since 2012. He'd have to go on a TEAR the next few seasons to get any real consideration. He'll get votes, but nowhere near enough. Our best shot off this recent run is one of the pitchers, probably.
  5. Zvon wrote: Homered in his first game donned in Metropolitan pinstripes so he started at love and worked his way down to I kinda like this guy. He didn't suck. This, pretty much.
  6. I'm decidedly neutral. And waiting for more.

  8. I thought I remember doing this. I suppose not. Here we go: deGrom Harvey Granderson Murphy Familia Cespedes Duda Flores Colon Syndergaard Conforto Niese d'Arnaud Tejada Lagares Cuddyer Wright Plawecki Uribe Johnson Matz Gilmartin Robles Clippard Reed C. Torres Verrett A. Torres Goeddel Nieuwenhuis
  9. I like this whole new "Mets in the postseason" thing they did this year. They should keep doing that.
  10. 49-cent "cello" packs and dollar "rack" packs of Topps cards.
  11. Aroldis Chapman to the MFYs, allegedly. Stay classy, Yanx.
  12. Anyone who has "Defining Cardinal Greatness Across the Eras" on THEIR Mets Bookshelf deserves a serious kick in the privates.
  13. Vic Sage wrote: i'm morally opposed to spending money on middle inning guys and situational lefties. They fall out of trees. We've got enough on the 40 to fill the slots adequately. Sign Cespedes. Yeah, I'm back on the Yo bandwagon too.

  15. Ceetar wrote: I said "that's cool, I want one" and underestimated the demand. Oops. That's exactly what happened to me.

I read that they'll have more later in the winter. So why are people paying hundreds for that cap? They can't wait a little more? Because some people are dumb. Or missed Darren's tweet. Did you try and buy one online? Because I think I read that the only way to have successfully gotten one was to personally go to their physical location. I read that people formed a line hours before the doors opened. They had them online a few weeks ago -- and sold out immediately -- and said they held 150 back for their warehouse sale, selling them two per person that morning.

  19. Fuck, this thread went south quickly. Best wishes to Cuddy. Always seemed like a good guy, even when he was scuffling, and to walk away from $12.5M is bold as hell. I wish him the best in retirement and I will remember him as a very good major league player.
  20. Heyward is going to hit 70 home runs a year in Wrigley. Crikey.
  21. Ashie62 wrote: Springer and Correa are the face of the Astros. Like not doable without Harvey. You know, if we still had Niese as a 4-5 guy... Harvey for Springer would be a fuckin' ballsy-ass move.
  22. MFS62 wrote: I thought only giving up Leroy Stanton was too much for that guy. I wonder if Hubie Brooks has this day circled on his calendar. Later /phone rings "GAH. Not again."
  23. LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr wrote: Remember how he left? Remember that Metly parting gift he left in the press? Jon Niese: “I’m sure what I’ll appreciate more than anything is the way (#Pirates) play defense. I’m looking forward to that.” HANG ON WAIT. EFF THAT GUY, THEN.
  24. Never great, but usually good. I liked him.
