  1. That's a magical Foo right there. He's got game, at least on that topic.
  2. Frayed Knot wrote: Manfred says No changes to the DH rules or the draft procedures this year. Good.
  3. Wow, never knew till just now that in 1975, as the first black manager, he was actually a player-manager, and homered in his first game in that double role. Pretty cool.
  4. =nymr83 post_id=2486 time=1549506012 user_id=54] =seawolf17 post_id=2333 time=1549309586 user_id=91] Both Sunday nights are equally terrible for me, because I'm traveling all week that week in the middle. So whatever works for everyone else is good by me.
  5. The DH is to me still the most hateable of all of these proposals.
  6. Jeff and/or Fred Wilpon should be the punter, based on their inability to spend the money to get the big splash players. That's a punt to me.
  7. Changed the topic, too, for purposes of smack talk.
  8. Draft Order: 1. GRLL 2. ROC 3. CUSE 4. COLD 5. SIRR 6. GUIT 7. HYSE 8. AA Also, I rearranged the divisions by putting my http://www.barleyprose.com/three cobloggers and I into the "Barley" division and JCL, NYMR, BMFC and MM into the "Gnarly" division.
  9. Everyone has signed up! I will use a randomizer and set our draft order based on that to allow for planning of draft strategy. Hopefully everyone's good with the Sun March 17th draft date. If not, let me know. Since the NL slate doesn't start until Thursday, March 28th, we could push back to the weekend of the 23rd/24th if need be.
  10. Go get him. More depth. Puh-leeeease.
  11. You all will see, with weekly roster moves, you can really manage your team for this league by looking at your roster on Sunday nights and spending 5-10 minutes setting your lineup for the week, picking up hot players off waivers, etc. That's how I do it in ABNS' other league that uses a similar scoring/roster style and it works out great.
  12. Now we just need BMFC, still, and one more from someplace. Maybe someone who knows him IRL or on FB can ping him, I sent him a direct message here but never got anything back. Thanks for joining in JCL.
  13. We need BMFC then. I see that Ceetar came around too, that gives us 6. So we'll just need to find 2 others on Reddit or the mean streets.
  14. It looks like you signed up twice, in error. I'm gonna boot one of them. Meanwhile we still need NYMR or BMFC to sign up (I get usernames and people names mixed up).
  15. She's easy on the eyes.
  16. Well I need the other three folks here to join before I spread this around. Anytime, fellers.
  17. https://www.forbes.com/sites/howardmegdal/2019/01/24/bryce-harper-manny-machado-and-jeff-wilpons-latest-new-york-mets-payroll-claims/#111de17069e3Forbes is singing the same song and I can't see the fault in their argument.
  18. I don't care about the percentages, that's just numerical jerking off (which is, trust me, only like the 93rd best type of jerking off, having reviewed many others). Whether you got 75.0% or 100% doesn't really matter except to bored sportswriters (and forum discussion panels). I think it distracts from what is the bigger story, to me, which is Clemens and Bonds resurfacing as legitimately having a chance to get in to the HOF sometime soon, despite being very widely considered the pitcher and hitter most emblematic of using drugs to cheat.
  19. Sorry, no one is "literally a saint" to me.
  20. League is ready for joining. http://fantasy.espn.com/baseball/league/join?leagueId=65375625&inviteId=6f934f68-69fd-4537-b262-7b3a647720e9Link is here. Draft set tentatively for Sunday March 17th at 7:30 PM. Once the five known CPF'ers have signed up I will spread this link around a smidge.
  21. =Centerfield post_id=1359 time=1547815679 user_id=65] I would spend the money on Harper first. Then Machado second even though we got 27 infielders and spent more than we would on Machado. And then if we can't have that, then Pollack. And if no Pollack then pitchers. Another starter. Bullpen help. A lefty in particular. And then if not that I'd ask for statues at Citi. A waterslide for the kids maybe. Maybe they could get cheerleaders. I would buy shakeweights. Invest it with Dykstra. Donate it to Michael Bolton's comeback bid. I would rather use it for anything than just let the Wilpons keep it for personal debt.
  22. I mean, this will be set up similar to a league I have done with ABNS for the last several years that is tons of fun. Weekly lineup changes, and week to week scoring, which means, really, you log in on Sunday night, see who is hot/cold on your team over the last week, maybe make a free agent swap or two, and set your lineup for the upcoming week. Each week is a new matchup and a clean slate. And then there are playoffs in September. But it's OK, I am still thinking I can find a few others willing to join if this isn't your thing. We have 5 here and I can scare up 3 others I reckon.
  23. In all of my adult years as a Mets fan, very possibly the easiest guy to root for, apologies to Benny Agbayani. All heart. Fwife's all time favorite Met.
