    That's a 2B if he hustles out of the batters' box. My HDMI antenna is flaking, as usual, so I'm enjoying the game via Fox Deportes and the broadcast en Espanol. I certainly don't need Joe Buck to follow a baseball game.

    Way to not pick a beer, y'all suck! Here's my picks: Hitter: I think Yasmany Grandal is a guy they will go after - best C on the market at a position where none of the internal options have put even a single full productive season together. Closer: Familia. Mets known to bring back the known guy. Beer: Had one of these Uinta black imperial double IPA's tonight while out and about. Delicious and packing a good wallop (9.3% ABV). It may even turn up on this quirky beer blog that I've been enjoying lately.

    Got maybe 4 innings in and went to bed. The AL games seem to take way longer to me - more timeouts, more stepouts, etc.

    Buddy Baumann, on the night of his MLB debut as a San Diego Padre in 2016, came into a close game with a runner on 2nd and two out. On his first pitch, he induced a ground out to the first basement. He got sent back to AAA the next day. Tell me something I don't know! About Seth Lugo, I mean.

    I would say this is less of a MFY town than it was when we moved here in 2000. The 2015-2016 successes brought a lot of local Mets fans out of the woodwork and the new Syracuse Mets affiliation will do more of the same. He does get good local media coverage, being a graduate of Cicero-North Syracuse High School which is maybe 10 miles north of where I live.

I think that got us into August, we went probably 7-8 times in total this past season out of 72 home games. I suspect we'll go more in 2019, though it's expensive to go all the time and also pay for parking, snacks, drinks etc. Hey, board admins, can we spin this out to a "Syracuse Mets" thread? I feel like that's worthy of its own thing.

    I'm sure that part of the deal where the Mets pony up $26 million for stadium renovations was that they become the Syracuse Mets. Having said that, I am damn excited about this. Not the uniforms and logos, which range from good to meh for the most part. These hats do resemble a lot of the Syracuse University gear, though those are usually orange with blue (navy blue) lettering and a blockier "S" than these. As for the uniforms, I much prefer the road greys with "Syracuse" in block letters to the orange Mets logo over the pinstripes. I ran into a buddy of mine, whose son is in Fgirl's class and who is also in my darts league, and is always wearing Mets swag. He told me he's going in on a set of 6 season tickets for his wife and two kids plus his brother/sister in law, and that he'd keep me looped in for deals on nights where he couldn't use those seats.
