  1. Gutsy inning there for You-rees. Now it's go time, you damn Mets.
  2. Fat idiots sing opera and encourage me to borrow cash.
  3. Benjamin Grimm wrote: The problem is that Mickey blew through too many of his pitchers early, and let Lugo throw too many pitches the day before. Yep, agreed. Why is Lugo going 40 pitches, to get some stupid 4 out save? Dumb.
  4. Johnny Lunchbucket wrote: Lagares going oppo yard was somehow more surprising than Davis' yips Whatever, man. I'm bullish on angry, motivated Lagares. #TeamLaunchAngle I was mentally lamenting, right up until he hit it, how much the absence of J.D. Lowrie is an infliction of Lagares at bats on us this season.
  5. Well he's settled in. I feel like the Marlins should lose every game 18-1 based on their "lineup."
  6. Right, it's a weekly choice. Week 1 is fluky because it's really a week and a half, both last and this week. You'll be able to edit your lineup for games starting April 8th.
  7. Johnny Lunchbucket wrote: I have to say, I'd have preferred Mesoraco starting yesterday's game over Nido who came up at least twice in situations where an extra-base hit would have been really important. I mean it's not that extra-base hits are ever unimportant, it was just... They should have PHed for him 3 times but can only do it once. There's some Twitter wound lickers arguing the Mets are doing this guy dirty but they can't just let a guy walk because he wants to, they'd possibly lose the whole team that way. That said if Nido continues to have games like yesterday (he also foolishly threw a ball into center field on a ball-4 stealing attempt) I'd consider Meso but he's gotta swallow his pride, fire his agent, report to Syracuse, beat out Rene Rivera, and hope d'Arnaud remains a medical scratch. He'd have to be better than Nido, right? Man, he's one of those "you know shit went bad if he's in the lineup" guys, if ever there was one (Nido, I mean, not Devin "Uggs McMurtry" Mesoraco).
  8. I believe I kicked off the hot April streak last year. Let me see if I can find that same magic. Steven Matz against some shit-ass Florida pitcher, 7:10 PM start. I do love me some weeknight baseball. Kicks off right when we're finishing dinner and lasts until bedtime.
  9. Time for the big bats to deliver a classic 2019 "mouth fuck" to their opponents.
  10. It's a brand new ballgame. Well, you know, speaking of brand new things, I think it's time for another triumphant comeback. https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/telletubbies/images/e/eb/The_Sun.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20111117164139>
  11. Woo! Floating 1B for Ramos, 5-4 bad guys.
  12. Aw, dang, was hoping for more Rosenthal, who sucks. Nats looking for a five out save and hopefully their closer can "do little" about this rally.
  13. They're scrapping to stay in this game. The 8th inning would be a good time to get back in it, yes?
  14. The forecast for Thursday is mid 50's. If there's some sunshine, well, a 2:05 start, I may be able to take a couple of hours of time off and take in the opener (the Google sez I am 16 minutes of driving from work to the stadium). Generally speaking we don't go to many games before the kids get out of school, but, hey, these are METS GAMES we are talking about.
  15. A Boy Named Seo wrote: No matter the situation, Familia always looks like he's on mile 24 of a marathon. I can attest, mile 24 is a rough one.
  16. I like a 1:30 start, my nap should be done by like the 4th inning tomorrow.
  17. =ashie62 post_id=5715 time=1553981415 user_id=90] We won, but, why does Mickey not pinch run for Ramos. Unreal
  18. Can't really IGT during the day but I woke up from my nap with the 4-4 score and watched all the fireworks. Good stuff, though I think Mickey left Lugo in too long.
  19. I think about guys who, at least while hitting, made it look easy, and I think of Straw, turning on a fastball and just with that wrist flick sending it out into space. I can't remember anyone else who did it like that before or since in a Mets uni.
  20. I hope to review one of these for the http://www.barleyprose.com/Barley Prose blog. What, you don't already subscribe? It's 100% CPF'ers!
  21. I get it, build more off days into the schedule this time of year to account for weather. Still, off days also suck.
