honestly, if arod puts his name on this thing, do you really think he'd be okay with floundering? image and perception seem to be important to the man. does that mean he'll be good at running a team? no. but it should mean that he wouldn't be content with middling results that only succeed in balancing the (pretend) budget. at least that's the hope. i feel like, even if they failed as owners, they'd at least be intersting about it, as opposed to boring and cheap and boringly cheaply incompetent.

i wouldn't mind getting deivi garcia back. we might be more tolerant of the growing pains and uncertainties, whereas the yanks might prefer the somewhat more predictable matz. not that matz is predicatble at all, but he at least has a major league pedigree of a sort.

the keep/drop decision is always the hardest on those high-priced guys who actually perform, when you also desperately need to shed payroll. interesting that you kept the traitorous zach wheeler. i hope he drags your team, and philly's down in flames bwahahahaha!!!! actually, i ain't gots nothing against him, and wish him well. just not too well, from a teams perspective. looks like you did some good pruning, though. me, i feel like i've been regretting some of my keep/drops since i made 'em.

i was going to type out a feasible technological solution but then i realized i should do a patent search first. or maybe start applying for research grants. but, damn. it would be so simple to detect the ball hitting a glove, a player stepping on a bag, and a gloved ball tagging a runner. it would make game-baseballs slightly more expensive, but i don't think by too, too much. and mlb makes a fuckload of money that they could easily swallow the cost AND make [CROSSOUT]oodles of money[/CROSSOUT] tens of nickels by selling the newfound data.

Beckett is the "old standard" of price guides, and they do have an online guide but you have to pay to see any "pricing." COMC (Check Out My Cards) -- https://www.comc.com/https://www.comc.com/ -- is a good gauge, because it's easily searchable, very complete, and has pretty accurate real-time sales and listings. I'm also spending some time on the TCDB -- https://www.tradingcarddb.com/https://www.tradingcarddb.com/ -- lately as well. (I know you're joking about the Bonilla, but as you might imagine, it can be YOURS for the low, low price of just one dollar.) i would never joke about my prized possession. nice to know i can readily pick up a second! -

so this seems like a relevant place to ask... is there any good online thingy where i can check the value of baseball cards? and/or create a log of all my no-common baseball cards? i've got me a sweet '86 topps traded bobby bonilla rookie card and wanna know what kind of a gold mine i'm sitting on. -
movies i saw in order of something... avengers endgame captain marvel frozen 2 lego movie 2 toy story 4 aladdin star wars rise of skywalker ok, so it's the order that i wrote them down. and i might be missing one. they're probably also in order of how much i liked them. bolded movies were seen in an actual theater. i know the last one is in last place for a good reason. we never talked about that movie on here. odd. but it irks me so. i mean, it was a stupid, i-guess-fun ride, with cool visuals. but man, it was stupid and dumb and made even less sense after i thought about it, and then i was mad at myself for thinking about it. ugh. i'm still annoyed by it. anyways... those are the movies i think i saw this year. maybe minus one or two. i've just done a poor job of movie-going, i think.

if i leave my car unlocked with the keys in it, and someone drives off with it, i still get to call them a car thief. hell, if i open the door to a valet, and watch him get into my car with the engine running, and drive off, i still get to call him a thief if he does anything other than park the fucking thing. why should it EVER be any different for a woman who says no?

yeah i just couldn't with the espn league. sorry. it was even more of a burden somehow than the yahoo app/website. and i finished in second, which is like way better than my typical non-ottoneu finish. but still, obviously, definitely all-in on ottoneu. just need to figure out my final cuts.

a hundred win team has a much better chance of getting INTO the playoffs, which is the first step a team must take in order to win the playoffs.

i'm kindof amazed i got up to second. my pitching was in a shambles at the start of the season, and my offense was terrible, too. we definitely need more players, because i think muddy chickens is going to drop out as well.
