  1. would it be a triple happiness if the braves, phillies, and yankees all lost, regardless of how the mets do?
  2. jesus christ. we're down one fucking run in the seventh inning of the sixth fucking game of the goddamned season. we're looking at three innings against the soft fleshy underbelly of the phillies. its far from over, and you're ready to throw in the towel on the fresh season? fucking hell. get over it.
  3. clearly we are not hitting utley hard enough...
  4. ok, that makes sense to me. thanks.
  5. can anyone help me out with this play... 2nd inning: "Pedro Feliz grounds into unassisted double play, first baseman Carlos Delgado. Jayson Werth out at 2nd. Two out." what happened there?
  6. i take it that home opener and season opener are two seeparate concepts. today being the home opener, and that in 21 other prior seasons, the mets started the season on the road, resulting in a subsequent 'home opener' held at shea.
  7. 22nd? am i correct in assuming that does not count when the actual season opener was held at home?
  8. my bad. last year, i only gave out one 6-point performance, to tom glavine on 27 july (he earned 6.4). five games into this year, i'm already giving out 6 points in a loss!
  9. Delgado 2.6 Pagan 1.8 Beltran 1.6 Church 1.4 Chavez 0.5 Clark 0.5
  10. Santana 6.0 Wright 1.8 Church 0.2
  11. ok, i need help with yesterday's game... did church have a realistic chance at snagging teixeira's home run, that he looked to me to have misplayed, or was that going to go out no matter what approach church took to the ball? currently, i've got church as one of three beer-sipping mets, yet my feelings on that play may leave him a bit thirsty. is it unfair to hold that home run against him, or is it a realistic expectation that he make a successful play on that ball - a ball i thought for sure was catchable until it wasn't? OE: i'm also holding the double over pagan's head against him. i think that's a bit more fair, as he should have gotten that ball easily.
  12. maybe not, but my BMI says "overweight", and i'm certain i outweigh the scrawny brit with the belly by a fair amount.
  13. i'm a sad sack who's run a marathon on mere weeks of training, and in one case, on no training whatsoever the preceding month. yet no movies get made about me. am i not interesting enough?
  14. except in basketball. i highly recommend it in basketball.
  15. that can be done at any 'spirit of sports' type store filling up an empty storefront in a local mall. you're there for the pinstripes, the history, and the glory of a monumental and great building housing a super-duper team, aren't you?
  16. ="OlerudOwned"]Wright getting MVP chants. In the 3rd game of the season. On the road. wright was getting those chants in the first game.
  17. Perez 3.3 Wright 1.7 Church 1.7 Beltran 1.6 Schneider 0.9 Delgado 0.8
  18. does beltran get any credit for the home run that was wrongfully taken away from him by the umpires? does wright get any debit for getting thrown out at home in the third? (and why no mention in the IGT? was it a close play? should he not have run? etc. inquiring minds want to know!)
  19. i don't mind phillips so much. not sure why, actually, but i don't. i disagree with him a lot and all, but he doesn't grate me too much. very weird... hey, are there any plans whatsoever for burgos to pitch this year?
  20. am i alone in not getting the mlb2k8 ad with the guy wiping down the bat who uses it to whack jose reyes' jose-jose-jose-jose-jose-playing boombox, which brings jose into a laughing fit, abbreviated by the bat wiper's general sense of malice? because i don't get it.
  21. ="Benjamin Grimm"]="Marty Noble"]The Mets won't need a starting pitcher until April 12 i suspect that we may need one rather sooner, myself.
  22. what inning was that? not that it'll affect my voting much (if at all) i'm just curious, as it wasn't mentioned in the igt.
  23. Pagan 3.2 Heilman 2.2 Schneider 1.8 Sosa 1.8 Smith 0.6 Reyes 0.4
