  1. Pete's locker room quotes are amusing because they are akin to the vapid ones that Crash Davis taught to Nuke in "Bull Durham". He's trying to politely respond without saying anything that could make headlines.
  2. Isn't a 5 run lead enough to use Lugo and Otto here? At a certain point, you lose the ability to use Diaz tomorrow for 2.
  3. That's some fight in the Mets, 7 pitches.
  4. Grisham hit about .190. F'in Max.
  5. Can we reset to 8:07 again?
  6. Just post one!
  7. DiComo might be incorrect about Trevor as he pitched 6 innings yesterday so he wouldn't be able to pitch tomorrow. Ronnie said that you "only" need 11 pitchers for a 3-game series so Ruf might make the team. Odds from Fangraphs: https://www.fangraphs.com/standings/playoff-odds/post-season-zips?&series=NLWCS2https://www.fangraphs.com/standings/playoff-odds/post-season-zips?&series=NLWCS2
  8. 101 wins for the Mets and ATL... so one more win, at any time in the season changing one of the 61 losses to a win, would have won the title. Sigh.
  9. =G-Fafif post_id=110095 time=1665005880 user_id=55] Givens back from IL...which is where Megill goes.
  10. That was a funny shot on SNY: Max, Jake, and Bassitt were talking, Pete has nothing to do so he comes over to join in and they ignored him. I wonder if he said, "what are you talking about... pitching?"
  11. With that win, the Mets will get home field advantage if they play the NYY in the WS. Something about a better record within their own division.
  12. Also, I've decided that the Braves are clearly cheating. gotta be. this isn't the cheating, but I did see one or two tweet videos of like Acuna on second flashing signs or something. This isn't cheating but it's something and good job by Lindor to catch it:
  13. Carrasco blew his spot on the WC roster and perhaps the NLDS roster.
  14. =roger_that post_id=109740 time=1664795406 user_id=128] Funny thing is I strongly support this playoff setup. I've been saying for years that the team with the best W-L record should get all sorts of advantages like a BYE in the first round, and getting to face the WC card team off a tough series, at home, etc. Now it's not so funny.
  15. I checked the message board for 506.com and found this: 1, 4, and 8 for ESPN Friday; 2 for ABC Friday; 4 and 7:30 for ESPN Saturday; noon and 8:30 for ESPN2 Saturday; 1, 4, and 8 for ESPN Sunday; 2 for ABC Sunday. For Friday, I'm GUESSING that 1 PM: TB@CLE; 2 PM PHI@STL (w/Kay and A. Rodriguez!!!); 4 PM SEA@TOR; and, 8 PM SD @NYM. And then 7:30 on Saturday for the Mets.
  16. Frayed Knot wrote: So following the Vogel single they had a walk + 8 hits which included 2 HRs and had made only six outs. It's almost impossible to NOT have more than three runs by that point but not only did they have just three but given three more ABs to add to it and they STILL have just three out of all that. I mean, I like having a lead and all but, man, they're leaving tons of shit out there. Same shit, different game.
  17. I guess the positive is we know that Wednesday's game won't matter so they can line up... the same 3 pitchers that sucked this weekend for the WC series. Sigh.
  18. I don't believe that professional players "choke", sometimes the other player is better, but I'm reconsidering that position.
  19. If it's a NYY-ATL WS I might not watch a pitch.
  20. ATL calls up AA players and they keep hitting. The Mets call up minor leaguers and they need time to adjust. Billy's epic failures at the deadline lead to Vientos, Baty, and Alvarez getting big ABs when they should have been in the minors.
  21. Good job by Joely.
  22. Their big-time SS: 3 HRs. Ours: 0. Their big-time 1B: 2 HRs. Ours: 0.
  23. Yup. As mentioned earlier, they let the SP off the hook and they weren't doing that for months. Oh look, it's the deadline acquisition that the Braves got and Billy did not.
  24. =roger_that post_id=109652 time=1664760318 user_id=128] My farts are great improvements over Smoltz... I don't remember the sound of your farts. Can you post a wav file or something?
